Lovely MANGAWHAI
Mangawhai and Mangawhai Heads, part of the Kaipara District on Northland's east coast, are popular holiday spots thanks to their white-sand beaches: five are within a 15-minute drive.
Mangawhai takes its name from the stingray which bask in the clear harbour waters. Kick back and go fishing, swimming, surfing, birdwatching, horse riding or play golf. The golf course is among New Zealand’s top 10 courses.

Visit the Mangawhai Museum which tells the story of events centred around the harbour.
One of the standout features of Mangawhai Heads are the sand dunes looked after by the Department of Conservation. The 5km Mangawhai Walk takes you along the beach and up a track to outstanding views of Bream Head and the Hauraki Gulf.
