Exhibiting the Unknown

Spring Green, WI

Located on Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin Estate, this proposal sits as a museum to exhibit the unknown works by Frank Lloyd Wright. In contrast to informing visitors about solely Wright’s contributions to architectural design, which can be learned firsthand by touring his built works on the Taliesin Estate and across the United States, this museum seeks to inform its visitors of Wrights design contributions to topics outside of his built architectural works. Wright’s contributions to art, sculpture, fashion, graphic design, unbuilt works, and photography are amongst the topics exhibited in the museum.

Co-housing Complex

Des Moines, IA

This project situated in Des Moines, IA utilizes centralized circulation as well as a unique public to private gradient that pushes the affordances of co-housing and encourages deeper relationships among residents. The centralized circulation draws residents vertically through the co-housing amenities as residents travel to the more private areas of the complex. Paired with the co-housing is an urban food initiative which allows both the public and co-housing residents to participate in spaces to grow, sell, and learn about locally sourced food.

Reflected Pattern

Nature Center

Reflected Pattern is my exploration of a how a structure can address both caring for the surrounding landscape and the gathering of people. Textiles are a means that cultures have recorded landscape conditions for centuries through the derivation of patterns. Through the act of making, the Reflected Pattern Nature Center invites users to create textiles that reflect and record the surrounding site conditions - acting as a physical time capsule. The display of these textiles seeks to frame views of nature in unique ways that lead users to appreciate varying aspects of the site.
