ABOUT ME Born and raised in India, Gujarat, I find myself constantly studying the beauty of my culture, especially its architecture and interior. As I embark for higher education at Academy of Art University, I discovered a strong passion for spatial planning and pattern making and material sourcing. Receiving exposure to the new design culture in San Francisco and having worked in India, my mind is open to the richness of the Western culture. I always see myself looking studying cultural value of the place and adding it to the design even on a foreign land. Tenacious to move forward on my design career path, I have learnt to pay attention to detail and eagerly accept challenges.

The projects main focus was “Social Sustainability” It means to study how these refugees live, communicate, the meaning of privacy in their live, which material they prefer and use for construction, which kind of construction techniques they use themselves. The concept for my space is “Architecture is art we live in”. Focusing on the strength and support of the classic element in architecture “the Arch”. The inspirational form language of this curved and robust element will be used as focal element in the space along with texture, light and shadow, muted color, architectural details and materials creating a Socially sustainable design.

The space planning is inspired from one of the common building typologies in Syria; the traditional courtyard house. It is found in all Syrian cities. The planning is characterized by a small number of relatively small opening in the exterior facade, and a large number of openings that open onto the inner courtyard. The inner courtyard is a garden and the center of household activities: all the rooms are set around it and open onto this gathering place. In large and medium sized houses, a fountain is placed in the center of the courtyard and freshens the air; trees are also grown in many traditional courtyards, adding shade and life to this exclusive area. Keeping these considerations in mind a common space is created between the storey through an overlooking space between the residential units and community space creating a large gathering space. Considering, a skylight to give the feeling of a courtyard and bringing in natural light

MUSEUM I DON’T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER San Francisco, California This project was a design challenge where our task was to design an untouched military fort that is part Fort Winfield Scott’s collection of 22 buildings. So, being a historical the exterior façade cannot be manipulated. Programs Used: Revit,, Photoshop

The quotes “Don’t judge book by its cover” describes my concept of juxtaposition of old and new. Keeping the exterior façade for its heritage value. The exterior shall represent a modern twist on the inside leaving them surprised. Time is ever-shifting and through the new renovation the user will be able to witness the growth and development in the design world. Leaving the inspired and in awe with the endless joy of juxtaposition.
