The youth speakers with Pastors Rudy and Moises with their gift, personalized Bible.

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity” (1 Timothy 4:12, NIV).

On Sabbath, April 24, at the Red Deer Seventh-day Adventist Church, everyone in the congregation stood up and moved forward, responding to the call of God on their hearts. The preacher for that night was concluding our week of revival with a message on finishing the work of God. Arden Sending (Grade 7) told us about a vision of a great revival in the last days (see Testimonies for the Church, vol. 9, p. 126) and asked the question, "Do you see yourself there?" He then made the call and prayed over those in person and watching online that God would embolden them to share the gospel in their communities.

How many of us would be willing to stand up in front of a congregation and preach a full sermon on revival, inviting others to join the call? This is not always an easy thing to do, no matter your age, and yet we were recently blessed with not just one but seven young people who said “Yes” to preaching a sermon and leading their church's Week of Revival. Our young people took the challenge seriously as they began working on their scripts in advance, highlighting, preaching to mom and dad, and conducting a test run at church the week before. It was inspiring to see the hard work and dedication in preparation for ministry.

The Week of Revival kicked off with a bang when Pratishta Manukonda (Grade 8) preached a powerful message on prayer and revival. She spoke with a conviction beyond her years and made us desire more prayer in our lives. The following message was brought by Bryan Sending (Grade 4) on the Holy Spirit and revival. With power, he presented the Holy Spirit as a personal friend who’s eager to guide and bless.

On Tuesday, Joash Muthiah (Grade 10) brought the Word, speaking about the urgency of revival. He spoke to the heart as he said, "Do not delay; [God] is the most important thing in your life."

On Wednesday, Rosshellyn Etienne (Grade 9) delivered a sermon on true and false revival. With earnest love, she let us know that true revival begins with knowing and obeying Jesus.

On Thursday, Cristciel Knight (Grade 9) spoke about the promise of revival. With clarity, she outlined how the promise of revival is received through surrender.

On Friday night, Ayden Polishuk (Grade 6) preached a message on evangelism and revival. With passion, he reminded everyone of our special mission to share God's grace with others.

Apart from the nightly lessons delivered by our preachers, we learned that our youth are not the leaders of tomorrow; they are the leaders of today. Each night's message concluded with a special blessing from the elders of the Red Deer Church as they prayed over our young people and their families as these mighty young women and men continue to speak boldly in response to God's prompting on their hearts. I would encourage everyone to pray and support their youth wherever they can and then stand amazed at how God will use this generation.
