Grade-five Students Plant Garden in Calgary

Grade 5 students building friendship and working cooperatively.

EDUCATION NEWS

With a lot of hard work and undying support from parents, including generous financial contributions, the grade-five class garden has, for the most part, been completed. With an eight-foot fence to keep deer and rabbits out, the raspberries, blackberries, haskap berries, and saskatoons are coming up nicely. There has also been one Evans cherry and one Brookgold plum tree planted.

Gardening is fun!

Once finished, students held a prayer of dedication in the garden, asking God to protect it and make it a blessing in the community where people can connect with Him and appreciate the wonders of His creation. What a precious opportunity this garden has been for strengthening relationships, working cooperatively, and learning more about growing food sustainably!

The Mountain View Seventh-day Adventist Church family members are students in this grade-five class, including Lucy Miranda, Hannah Paethke, and Valentina Silva.
