It’s Friday the day before Christmas, my kids are arriving. Ron’s already worried about his odds of surviving. My children get loud and quite crazy it’s true Bryan brings Devin, his own demolition crew. For me it’s the norm, but for him it’s all new.
The baking’s all done and the house looks quite cheery. Only this old bag seems to be weary.
Saturday Ron was chef for the day, Cooked turkey on the grill, it’s sure good that way.
There were lots of good things left on the table, We tried to eat every crumb but our tummies weren’t able.
Guy and Cindy arrived after we’d eaten But dug right into leftovers, so as not to be beaten.
We promised the children we’d open gifts after the meal, so as Guy took his last mouthful, they started to squeal.
Then out to the porch they ran with such haste I knew at once there was no time to waste. I must get out there to hand them one at a time, or the first child to reach them would claim them, “ALL MINE!
For Wyatt there was a packer shirt all green and gold,
For Hannah soft blocks for her tiny hands to hold.
Incredible edibles for Alexis we found, For Devin a truck, WITHOUT any sound.
Rons Tee shirt from Melinda read “Born in the USA a long time ago” and Abby got new boots to wear in the snow.
Everyone got something nice that they said “Thank you” for, Then we sat and talked for hours about Christmas’ of yore.
I loved every hectic minute of fun, Merry Christmas Everyone.
