Practice - Stage 1~2 - Yaam Architects

Hera wellness retreat centre was located in Pula capase, a very calm and cosy island, in the southern part of Malaysia. The project was proposed on

a harsh cliff, so the design and material were inspired by the mountain and the island’s culture. The project is taking a full advantage of the ocean view with a grid system

following the mountain and access from the mountain to add the feel of nature to the space and take the guests away from the industrial feel of our modern cities.

Site analysis and synthesis

Considerable focus has been placed on investigating the location and the external factors that affect it, such as wind patterns and the orientation of the sun in relation to the entrances of the site. Understanding these factors is crucial since they impact the environment and airflow for occupants. We placed a great emphasis on these aspects in our strategic placement of the site to encourage pedestrian activity and movement within the project.

Seaside resort in Alexandria, Egypt

This project uses organic integration in Fabrics as the research object, through both physical and digital simulations to explore the emergent and integral relation-

ships between form, growth, and behaviour in material systems. The project is an understanding collection of the local crafts like tailoring, pottery making, mixed with

stuffed fabric shaped by sewing layout and different forces to achieve organic shape orientation. The project is proposide as a sea view hotel in Alexandria, Egypt.

Tailor Made 10

Computational design project, using tailoring craft to form a new Fabric structure system in silicon valley, USA

This project uses organic integration in Fabrics as the research object, through both physical and digital simulations to explore the emergent and integral relationships between form, growth, and be-

haviour in material systems.

The project is an understanding collection of the local crafts like tailoring, pottery making, mixed with stuffed fabric shaped by sewing layout and different forces to achieve or-

ganic shape orientation. The project uses the physics of stitching force complied with the stuffing material to formulate shape of inflation in the fabric based on the stitching line.
