TOURISTIC RESORT+HOTEL Typology: Hospitality Academic Year: Fall 2017 Location: Ras Sudr, Sinai Requirements & Constraints:

The project was located on a special spot on the red sea. The site contained a contour slope with a difference of almost 20 meters. It was required to design a resort and hotel. The main elements of the project include: • Hotel Building containing at least 100 rooms • Minimum of 25 Chalets on a plot of 200 m2 each. • Restaurants, Shops & Cafes. • Different spaces for appropriate outdoor activities as amphitheater, sports courts, green areas and water features.

Tools Used: Autocad - Photoshop - 3ds Max - Lumion

18

The resort design depends on gathering all activities in zones distributed on the main spine that starts from the hotel till the sea. The circulation effeciently defines private, semi private, and public zones. All visitors units have a direct sea view Car parking and roads are allocated on the boundaries of the resort to avoid any intersection with pedestrians and the activities in the resort.

PUBLIC LIBRARY Project Type: Library Academic Year: 2015-2016 Location: El Minya Requirements & Constraints: The site was located in El Minya overlooking the Nile river from the western boundaries. The land plot contained a historical tree/palm that must be respected in the design of the project. The main objective was to respect the context and make the best use of different design constraints and make a strong asset out of them along with the proper functional planning of the library. Tools Used: Manual Drawing (Brown Ink) Autocad

32

The project’s location in El Minya; one of the most imporatant spots in Egypt containing matcheless historical sites from different civilizations. The project’s concept therefore evolved the circular disc shape “A symbol for Egyptian god Thoth” who was the god for this city in the pharaonic era & was considered the god wisdom and knowlege. The project tries to capture the architectural identity of the location by using some of the vernacular architectural vocabulary with the contemporary design to integrate with the building functions
