s we edge our way into the first quarter of 2022, we are beginning to see newly
emerging tactics for confronting the spread
of a new variation of COVID, while permitting travel to continue. We probably never thought that we
would see the emergence of a digital immunization certificate that would become so ubiquitous that its now possible to carry in multiple cell phone applications. Digitization of documents, mask

Traveling
with Children
What to Know Article written by: K.M. Atkinson
If you’ve ever planned a family vacation with
your children in tow, then you probably know how difficult, daunting, and unpredictable it can be.
Traveling, after all, requires quite a bit of planning
and preparation as is, but when you throw children into the mix, it adds an additional layer of logistics
and unknowns that you’ll have to learn to navigate. From child passports to consent forms, kid-friendly activities, and stroller check-ins, there’s a lot more that you’ll need to take into consideration.
It certainly won’t always be easy, and it will definitely require some patience, determination, and, most
importantly, strategic planning - but it is possible to travel with your children and still have an incredible time! Just be sure to take note of the tips and tricks
that we’ve compiled below to ensure that you don’t run into any unexpected bumps along the way!

Prepare Your Documents Ahead of Time When traveling with a minor, one of the
most important things that you will need
to have on hand is proper documentation. The documents that you’ll need will vary
depending upon your destination, airline, and family circumstances, so you’ll want to do some research ahead of time to
figure out which requirements apply to you specifically.
International Travel Generally speaking, if you’re flying
internationally, your child will need a
passport, regardless of their age, and a
visa if it is required for your destination. If
the child is only traveling with one parent or legal guardian, a notarized travel
consent form with both parents’ signatures will also be required. Sometimes proof of relationship, such as a birth certificate, adoption decree, or court order is also needed, especially in situations where

If the child legally only has one parent,
agreement will need to be provided.
Domestic Travel When it comes to domestic travel,
requirements aren’t as clearly defined. In general, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) does not require children under the age of 18 to have
proof of identification, as long as they are traveling with an adult. However, certain
airlines may still require identification, so it’s a good idea to bring your child’s ID,
just in case. As a side note to this, children
under the age of 2 are typically allowed to fly for free as a lap child, but you usually need to provide proof of age in order to obtain this perk. In this situation, a birth
certificate or a passport, if you have one,
sleep comfortably when you arrive
at your destination and will be well-
rested for the next day’s adventures - which will, in turn, make things easier for you.
As far as seat selection goes, think about your child and what would be best for you both. If you have a fussy child, sitting in the aisle

Remain Calm & Go with the Flow With all of this being said, the most
important thing you can do, no matter what happens, is remain calm and
go with the flow. It’s likely that you’ll
encounter some sort of hiccup along the way, and that’s okay; it happens to everyone. At the end of the day,
it’s not those mishaps that matter.
What matters most is that you enjoy this time with your child and make
the most of it because these are the
memories that parents and children will remember for a lifetime.

COVID 24-hour
Test Mandate
To Travel, To Enjoy Life Article written by: Vtautas Vaitkevicius
„Expect nothing, and you will never be disappointed“ – a quote that applies well to current times. With the rapidly changing environment influenced by the COVID-19 virus, we can expect everything and more. And with the recent surge of the
Omicron variant, testing for travelers has ramped up to unseen volumes! One of the current implementations is the 24-hour test mandate, enforced so we could sometimes enjoy even the simplest things. Here‘s more about the mandate.
Planivers Magazine
23
Quarantine: An Important Thing to Notice Many countries across the globe now require a strict quarantine,
even if you provide all the negative test results and are vaccinated
– it‘s an important consideration to notice when researching your
destination‘s COVID-19 policies. This is especially critical if a country has a policy for a traveler to stay in the certain COVID designated hotels, which are often very expensive.
Enjoying Entertainment & Basic Things Depending on the state within the
US, or another country in the world,
somewhere, you may need a rapid COVID-19 test to enter concert
venues, restaurants, and even big
shopping malls for a limited amount
of time. This is especially true for those unvaccinated or those not recovered from the virus. You may want to take a closer look at the local COVID-19
policies if you‘re not vaccinated or recovered. It can strictly limit your
movement and change plans once you arrive!
Regardless of the Vaccination Status Vaccines seemed to ease the COVID
era travel struggles, but not so much
anymore. For example, many travelers
are now required to perform a COVID-19 test within 24-hours of the departure to the United States of America. So, even if you received your booster shot, a
24-hour test mandate comes into play for all travelers going or returning to
the US. But that‘s not only in the US, as various European countries started to implement this.
European Examples Europe is quite diverse in COVID-19
measures as always, but one thing is
clear – it is not as friendly to vaccinated
or recovered travelers as it recently was. Countries such as Greece or France
require an antigen test completed 24
hours before departure. Other countries like Austria exempt those with booster
shots, while many others require COVID tests done no more than 48 to 72 hours before arrival
Planivers Magazine
Conclusion For now, continuous testing is not going anywhere. Even if you‘re vaccinated, be prepared to spend additional money on travels (some tests may cost
close to 100 Euros / 120 USD) and quarantine bookings. The best thing you can do is research, research, and research in advance. Safe travels!

WINTER GETAWAY DESTINATION HIGHLIGHT MONTREAL CANADA Article written by: Anzah Nadeem Montreal, Canada, is a top
destination to spend winter holidays, no doubt about it! It is a winter

with soft falling snow, sticky maple
taffy and hot mulled wine. Spending Christmas in Montreal is a memory that travelers can cherish forever.
So, Why Montreal? Montreal has that freezing Canadian weather, and the temperature
remains below freezing even at the
warmest part of the day. This means
that snow is common, and wind chills can make it feel even colder but
also keeps that snow present. The
snow, in addition to bringing chilled
weather, induces magic and makes
the landscapes breathtaking. Warm food and winter activities are a
source of joy that attracts hundreds of tourists every year.
The best part? The transportation
system remains unaffected despite the heavy snowfall. You can take
the metro system to get anywhere
in the city. The entire system is wellconnected, fast and keeps tourists warm. Cabs are reliable even in winters, and most of them are
electric, making them eco-friendly.

How Visiting Pakistan Changed My Perspective Article written by: Anzah Nadeem
Pakistan is not a country that comes to many people’s minds while
planning a holiday. Pakistan has a notorious reputation due largely to media portrayal. News outlets show it as a refuge for terrorists and criminals. And guess what? I thought the same. But then I
came across some western vloggers and media personalities talking about Pakistan.
I was still skeptical, but now I was more curious about the place, and despite the disapproval of friends and family I booked the
tickets to Lahore, also known as the cultural capital of Pakistan. After a 20-hour flight, I was finally in Lahore, a place once ruled by the Mughal Empire, who also built the Taj Mahal.
After finishing with immigration, I immediately booked an Uber, yes it operates in Pakistan also. They took me to my hotel, a significant distance from the airport. First surprise? The uber only cost me
$3.50, for almost 13 KM long distance (roughly 8 miles). The hotel
stay was beautiful; the staff was courteous and they addressed all my queries.

The next day, it was time to visit some old
architecture and explore the life of Lahore.
Places like Badshahi Mosque, Shahi-Qila and Shalimar Garden made the trip worthwhile.
The hospitality of the people there surprised
me the most. Wherever I went, I was greeted
and offered Chai, a local beverage. Best of all, I was not charged a single penny for eating from vendors on the street. No matter how much I insisted, I was not allowed to pay
money. Either the vendor himself refused to
receive the bill, or it was some random person who paid on my behalf.
I was baffled. I had an idea about Pakistani
hospitality, but this was on another level. Not to mention the food was amongst the best
cuisines that I have ever tried. After spending
three days in the city and making some local friends, I boarded a bus to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
Well, another surprise. It was polar opposites from Lahore when it came to the landscape, but hospitality remained the same. Located
at the foot of captivating, lush green Margalla Hills, it is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve visited. It is more diverse when it comes to
the population as people from all provinces reside in the city.
The highlight of Islamabad was my visit to
Faisal Mosque, which was once the largest mosques in the world, Saidpur village,
and scenic of all, Monal restaurant, which
overlooks the entire city from a mountain top. Westerners would find themselves at home
in this city as it has all the mainstream food
and clothing brands available. The best part? Pretty much everybody spoke English, even the vendors at food stalls.
Over the next few weeks, I visited several
cities in the north and south, from dunes to snow-covered mountains. No doubt, it is
among the most beautiful countries globally. Personally, the best part was exploring the culture and the people. Believe me! Trust
me, Pakistanis were and are kind, loving, and
highly hospitable people; they think of you as a guest rather than a tourist, and I think that sums up the culture and people of Pakistan.
