A public building - the Independent Administrative Reform and Civil Service Commission - in Herat is my first postgraduate professional experience in the design process. In this project, we tried to design in terms of content. So, considering that this project was located in Herat, one of the ancient cities of Afghanistan and on the other hand it is a public complex, we adjusted our approach to designing this building in a way that is friendly, familiar and also meets the needs And since I and the design team of the office in which I design, pay special attention to the issue of architectural identity, the use of local materials and Afghan architectural elements (such as tiles, wind tower, central courtyards, etc.) we considered our design in harmony with today’s needs.

RASULULLAH MOSQUE MOSQUE OF KOCHI

CHAPTER THREE COMPETITION ABDOLHAMID PORTFOLIO

When looking at the form and plan at the same time, it is an association of the situation in which the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is standing in front and the two companions are praying behind him. The front mass and volume, where the altar is located, is higher than the other two volumes and has a dome due to paying homage to the great personality of the Prophet. The two side volumes can maintain the potential of «sense of welcome» as much as possible by maintaining the correspondence and placing Islamic-Afghan elements such as porch, porch and sofa.

The separation of the minaret from the body of the mosque and its side arch has been done in order to give it more activities and to prevent the usual luxury aspect of today›s mosques. The zoning of the minaret next to the ablution has been done in order to strengthen the spiritual sense of death and the ascension of the human soul to God and to associate the advice that has been done in connection with the «permanent reminder of the event of death and the hereafter.»

CHAPTER FOUR VOLUNTARY PROJECT ABDOLHAMID PORTFOLIO

This project is a proposal design for an “Open Reading Space” in Kabul University. Location of this open space is the backyard of engineering library where is a non-functional and abandoned area with lots of weeds, the terrain is long oriented from west to east. In this project we use functional concept for making batter and highquality open space. The concept of our design is basically derived from consideration of four different zones; Interact zone, thinking zone, Transition zone and Watch zone. This zoning relies on decreasing the weaknesses of this library and enhancing the quality of a reading space. According requirement of project we adopt some strategies for “communicating boundaries” between four zones to not conflict with each other; 1. Proposed four different types of paving masonry. 2. Proposed different elevations 3. Proposed different and appropriate furniture for each zone for security and crime prevention. 4. Consideration of fluent surveillance not only in outdoor but also for indoor to outdoor. 5. Elevate the watch zone for a better supervision between other three zones. 6. Proposed green-permeable partition walls from bamboo wood for east and west sides to close the area 7. Also, we Proposed a simple bamboo pavilion for precipitations and leaves falling during the year. INTERACT ZONE; eastern part of the yard that serves as place for group works and discussions that have bothering noise for those who study individually. We can distinguish this section with large tables and long benches. THINKING ZONE; western part of the yard that serves as a place for individual activities. We can differentiate this part with individual chairs and tables. WATCH ZONE; middle part of the yard that serves as a place for rest and hanging out with its terrace. We can distinguish this section with its raised elevation for better view to surrounding. TRANSITION ZONE; middle part of the yard and attached to watch zone serves as its name shows as a way to pass and circulate through the space. Watch zone and transition zone, both are located between interact zone and thinking zone to control sound or noise privacy of thinking zone.

CHAPTER FIVE ACADEMIC SAMPLE WORKS ABDOLHAMID PORTFOLIO

Introduction: Interior design is one of the most exciting and creative profession with a combination of Art, Science and Technology in practical and realty. Concept: Concept of this project is to present and apply the Structure design, Geometric design and decorative design. We use principle design like Balance, Harmony, Rhythm, Repetition, proportion and others by implementation of design elements. Objective: Based on Interior Design course, we learned general knowledge about types of design, interior design, Design principles, and element of design. So each student has a mission to express their knowledge in a real project. In this case, we decide to plan and design the exhibition hall/class in extension project of engineering faculty of Kabul University. In recent years our faculty faced with lack of enough places problems in classes, laboratories and many necessary others, exhibition hall is one of them. In this project we attempt to apply our knowledge, skills and ability in interior designing as much as possible. Zoning identification: Zonings are applied according to separate zone for each department with Open Plan strategy, because the main concept is outdoor and indoor connection. For each zone we chose the best partition arrangement style like ALCOBA, PASILLO, LINEAL and LIBRE. Each style has its own characteristic. 1. ALCOBA style: good arrangement of partition and good circulation in civil and energy department exhibition zone. 2. LIBRE style: which have good privacy, Circulation for Architecture and Mechanical exhibition zone. 3. LINEAL style: good arrangement of partition, good circulation and good indoor space for electrical exhibition zone. 4. PASILLO style: satisfy the circulation, arranging partition of Urban Planning department exhibition zone. Materials and Colors: Materials and colors are used according consideration of sustainability and psychology.

Extension project of Engineering Faculty of Kabul University In this practice, we attempted to; 1. Add required spaces for each department specially for architecture department. 2. Consider projections of these departments for next 5 years. 3. Propose a better Zoning alternation 4. Consider a separate zone for architecture school in future As number of users (including students, university staff and etc.) are supposed to increase up to more than 2000 students, circulation and lack of space and classes are the important concerns. To solve this problem, I proposed three distinct zones with separate circulation. I also tried to focus on using traditional elements such as Arch, Jali and Eiwan in order to vitalize our inconspicuous Afghanistan architecture.

CHAPTER FIVE ACADEMIC SAMPLE WORKS ABDOLHAMID PORTFOLIO

This project is Situated on Daralaman Corridor in Alauddin Park Node, which is extremely important because of the existence of important educational, government and commercial centers and its strategic location, the project is designed according to SASAKI master plan which has identified urban design jurisdictions that set specific rules for Kabul city development. In this design urban redevelopment strategy has been used. According to studies, surveys and needs assessment some spaces such as (Plaza, cinema, stadium) have been added to the area and areas such as schools and orphanages have been preserved. The existing residential homes in this node are housed in proposed redevelopment buildings according to municipal law. Since each project has goals, this project is also designed to achieve the following goals: 1. Create a successful and exemplary business center 2. Project self-sufficiency financially 3. Creating a popular gathering and communication between the two neighborhoods
