Introduction of Fragrance and Types Fragrance is a combination of scented oils, water and alcohol. Or we can say: It is a mixture of essential oils (lime, cedarwood, sandalwood, etc), animal extracts (ambergris, musk), absolutes (rose, neroli, jasmine) and synthetic fragrance. It comes in different forms but the most popular are:

#1 Parfum Parfum is the purest and has the highest concentration of fragrance. It consists of different aromatic oils with less quantity of water and alcohol. It usually comes in a high-quality bottles with stoppers on the neck. It is the most expensive, strong and long-lasting of all fragrances. A single dab is all you need to get more fresh. Parfum is generally sold in ounces. It can be directly applied behind the ears, on the wrist, on the throat and under arms.


#2 EDP (Eau De Parfum) EDP or Eau De Parfum is the another common fragrance and has a less concentration and intensity than Parfum but it has more concentration than Eau De Toilette(EDT). A one or two dab of EDP gives a long-lasting fragrance all day and is recommended for everyday wear. It is cheaper and that is the reason why most of them prefer this type of fragrance. It is generally sold in normal bottles. EDP can be applied on the different body parts, clothes or hair.


#3 EDT (Eau De Toilette) EDT is lighter than EDP but stronger than EDC. That is the reason why many people wear this because it is a intermediate form of fragrance. It is light, cheap and does not last for very long. EDT has high quantity of water and alcohol with less quantity of perfume essence. It is generally used for both men and women, which comes in spray bottles. It is suited for daily purpose.


#4 EDC (Eau De Cologne) Cologne is the most lightest and cheapest form of fragrance among all these four. EDC contains essential oils like orange, bergamot, lemon, etc and gives fresh and fruity fragrance. Cologne has the highest quantity of water & alcohol. It is the most diluted form of fragrance amongst the four. Cologne is used by the younger people which stays in the skin for shorter duration as it evaporates quickly. It comes in a large bottle.
