Cult Film Night: City of Lost Children (Jean-Pierre Jeunet/Marc Caro, France 1995, 107mins, subtitled) A beautiful and surreal fantasy that takes the audience on a journey through the magical and nightmarish world inhabited by a mad scientist who steals the dreams of children. As in the directors’ first film Delicatessen, this is a visual feast with a superb cast of character actors who all add to the film’s unconventional style.
