AB Glass Jewelry Gifts Dichroic Glass Necklace for GBK Academy Awards Lounge
LOS ANGELES -‐ AB Glass Jewelry will gift its dichroic glass necklace to select members of the press during the GBK Productions Gift Lounge honoring Academy Awards nominees and presenters in Los Angeles Feb. 22 -‐ 23, 2013. The fused glass pendant will be distributed in participation with The Artisan Group, an exclusive arts promotion group. Andrea Bernstein designed the Glorious Eyes Necklace with her long-‐time inspiration in mind. “I have been attracted to the peacock’s plumage since I was a young child,” she explains. “Similar to dichroic glass, the peacock's feathers appear to transmit different colors when viewed at different angles.” The bright blues and purples chosen represent passion and illuminate the etched design of 24k gold. The dichroic glass teardrop pendant hangs from a gold-‐filled wrapped amethyst chain as a subtle enhancement to the colors. A tassel was placed below the pendant to add a gentle sweep of movement, also furthering the piece’s boho chic sophistication. This is AB Glass Jewelry’s second participation in the GBK Lounges, having just gifted 100 presenters and nominees of the Golden Globe Awards. It also recently created designs for celebrities Vanessa Lachey and Nicole Richie. “We are all artists,” Bernstein said of the celebrity gifting experience. “It is my desire to share my gift and craft with those who are uniquely talented in their craft.” Each opportunity has been in conjunction with the juried art promotions organization The Artisan Group. In addition to its work with The Artisan Group, AB Glass Jewelry creations have been exhibited at fine arts and crafts shows and boutiques in the Northeast. Throughout the years, and various successful career paths, Bernstein has remained inspired by her creative energy with pastimes in printmaking, photography and crafts. In 2004, she experimented with making jewelry as an outlet for alleviating the stressful demands of her fast-‐paced career. Two years later, she introduced herself to the creation of dichroic glass, and the collection that began with solitary pendants has developed to include necklaces, cufflinks, belts and belt buckles. Bernstein became a member of The Artisan Group in April of 2012 to further develop her craft and her business. “Not only does TAG offer a great deal of knowledge and support to its members but it has forced me to challenge myself by creating new and innovative designs that I never dreamt of executing,” she said. “Being a member of the group has elicited a deeper passion for what I love to do.”
