What exactly is a smart home? It all begins with the Internet. When we bring the internet to the things around our home, to the very structures that surround us - doors, windows, lights and appliances - we create something really special. From the days when our ancestors huddled around little fires, the landscape of the Earth has been lit up by little networks - webs of light that herald civilisation. Today, light is an ever-present factor in our lives. It permeates each and every aspect of our days and nights. A typical Indian home has over 50 light fixtures! Entanglement automates them all so that you never have to think about them again. The lights are now in-charge of themselves. They will switch on and off depending on whether they’re needed or not. The corridor lights will switch on when you enter, and off when you’ve left it. But there’s a lot more you can do! You can set the lights to blink a couple of times to let you know whether the next United football game is about to start, and they’ll dim when you sit down on the couch after a hard Wednesday to enjoy that popcorn flick everyone’s been talking about. We are very fragile. Even a few degrees of change in temperature can make a huge difference to our lives. We spend most of the summer in air-conditioned rooms, moving around in air-conditioned cars, trains and planes. Even a few minutes out in the sun creates in us a very intense desire to find shade. And in the cold of winter, we rush around finding heaters and fireplaces, never leave home without a shawl or coat, and get into warm blankets every opportunity we get. Let us make life easier for you. Entanglement’s system can regulate your home’s entire climate, changing it depending on the occupancy of the rooms, the time of the day, and the temperature. We also offer air quality control and ventilation, so if the outside air is cooler and a wind is blowing, the system would open up your windows first rather than switch on the air conditioning. If the air in a room is stagnant for too long, and the system detects a drop in air quality, the exhaust fans would switch on and the ventilators would open up. One click and the blinds go up. One more and they’re down. Simple and intuitive? There’s a lot more to it than meet’s the eye... Entanglement’s privacy features allow you to control motorised blinds and curtains. Now, blinds and curtains are old-school - we all have them in our homes - so what makes these special? They’re completely automated. You can set times for them to open and close, or set events when they open and close. We had a client with a home theatre who wanted his blinds to go down whenever he was about to start a movie. We gave him so much more. Now, with the press of a button, the blinds went down, lights dimmed, projector switched on, screen rolled out, speaker system came alive, and the air conditioning kicked in. We even added an option to switch on his popcorn machine with another click, so that if he got the munchies thirty minutes into the new Marvel movie, food was just a few steps away. Home Security is not a new field. There are a lot of options available – from CCTV cameras to motion and perimeter sensors. Our system not only provides you with all the options, but also integrates into itself any existing security measure that you might have in place. There’s no need for replacement. Entanglement’s setup just extends the possibilities. Imagine a burglar breaks into your house through a window when you’re away. He trips the armed motion sensor outside your bedroom window. Our system switches on the camera, triggers a loud alarm, sends a notification/SMS to pre-defined numbers, redirects in real time the live feed of your cameras to your phone, so you see what’s happening and can take appropriate steps, such as locking the thief in until the police arrives. For the less exciting nights, you can set your lights to switch on and off at random intervals, giving the appearance that the home is occupied, an immediate deterrent to potential burglars. One might say that these things almost never happen, but can you take that risk with your home, or worse, with the lives of your family? Our range of products provide you with Early Warning Systems that let you know that something’s gone wrong, giving you the precious few minutes to fix it (or to leave the building). Take our Smoke Sensor for example. It’s constantly recording smoke levels in your kitchen. It’s looking for temperature spikes and uses the data to predict fires in the next couple of minutes. If one starts, it triggers an alarm and your home goes into fire mode: all doors are unlocked, the emergency lights direct you towards the nearest exit, the ventilation system switches on in full force to get the smoke out, the room with the raging fire is isolated and cut off from all sources of oxygen, all your appliances are switched off to avoid further destruction, and the fire department is warned. Most critically, all of this happens while you and your family safely escape. But even in instances where such drastic measures aren’t required, safety can be insured. Our media center uses Plex, a world-renowked media streaming service with apps on every platform imaginable that allows streaming your content from anywhere in the entire world. We’ll set it up for you and it will automatically categorise and recognise all your movies, tv shows, and music, automatically pulling in posters, album covers, reviews, ratings, and other information. Watch Youtube videos, browse music videos on Vimeo, or look up documentaries on Nat Geo. Plex has over 100 channels that you can hook into directly. We take this central media streaming experience described above, and we give it an upgrade. Since your whole house is connected, your media center knows when the front bell rang and lets you know discreetly if you’re in the middle of a movie. If the popcorn machine is ready, you get a little notification. If you get up from the couch, the movie pauses automatically and the lights come on. If you’re listening to music in the lounge and want it to follow you to the patio, well, we can do that! And best of all, no more fighting over the remote.
