Theme : The Trasport Hub with increased preseeure in indian cities, governments are implementing metro services as part of their long range planning. while metro stations are often designed in idea od relieving pressure on yhe already congrested roads, they could also serve a vital role in the wellbeing of its patrons and the city. The aim is to create life around an already busy metro station, how there can be so much more to the station than just the platforms!

SPAN VOLUMES. ENCLOSE SPACES. The complex predominantly comprises open spaces in the form of galleries, exploratorium and greens, whose architecture can serve as a canvas for multi-faceted contexts. The composite structure of the complex comes with the flexibility of reshifting levels around the metro platform, adapting the design to varied contexts.
SANDSTONE:SUPREMACY::GLASS:MODERNITY The complex is a juxtaposition of a sandstone pedestal on ground and a modern structural lattice on top, fusing at the metro line where sandstone grows into glass on one side of the complex and glass melts down on the other.
REFLECT FUNCTION IN FORM. The structural rhombohedral envelope is sandwiched between reflective glass and and a clear curtain panel, both with varied fenestration patterns create a composition of the activity within the complex and at the same time reflect the outer context.

Site Analysis & Zoning
A parkside land, bordered by other residential blocks (twothree storeys in height) having a main entrance in north side from a sector road in Kolkata. The site is divided into four major zones according to their specifications.
One wing of the pinwheel with spaces around staircase is blessed by the extended pool of fresh water in interior volume, adding extra charm and freshness to the innovative space designed for recreation.
A centrally placed spiral staircase is making the pinwheel dynamic from the interior, the composition of four extended wings is creating outdoor courtyards in all four dimensions providing more possibilities of interaction between nature and human. Extended built volumes along the universal axes are solving the problem of light and ventilation.

Technology Creativity Center Type : Academic Project Responsibilites : A solo project Time : Forth SEmester (2014) Location : Kharagpur, India Client : IIT Kharagpur Climate : hot-humid Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is planning to make a better space for students to interact with each other and with recreational activities, in near proximity of existing building complex (called Technology Gymkhana ) with similar kind of facilities. The main agenda of the construction is to provide a space for art & cultural performances.
The site is borderd by busy play grounds in north and east. The building opens up to the main road of campus in south and in west it has access from a less busy road.
The transpirancy created by a big glass facade at entrace supported by a internal courtyard, attract the passers by the activity going on. Rounded shape ( temporrarely close ) performance area, the central attraction of the whole structure, is connecting everything to everyone.

The 'L' shaped site is located in new town Kolkata, famous as IT Hub of the city. The huge residential volumes have been proposed on the border of site.
The commercial complex is divided in two predominant masses, greater volume contains a large number of big shops and bigger masses and voids. The other one is a smaller volume containing perishable goods with a central courtyard, giving a flashback of the traditional market.

Tagore Open air Theatre Modifying Existence )A Redesign Project( Type : Academic Project
Responsibilites : Concept Design/ Rendering Time : Sixth Semester (2015) Location : IIT Kharagpur Client : IIT Kharagpur
Tagore Open Air Theatre was constructed in 1995 to cater to the students activities around the year, mainly for annual student festivals: Spring Fest and Kshitij in the IIT campus. However, due to increasing student population and recent changes in convocations venues. The existing OAT is inadequate because it is not disabled friendly while IIT campus is modifying itself towards a total universal design. And top of that a temporary cover is desirable, so that air conditioning can be provided whenever needed.
Redesign involved the increase of capacity by 200% and construction of a retractable cover made of high grade plastic panels. The design is inspired by organic forms, to make it more iconic from surrounding academic area. Innovative material use changes it for better.
Multiuse Proposal We proposed a space underneath the existing and increased seating wing, which can be used as a practice space by dierent student groups and performerse; Dance, Dramatics, Music and various other activities.
Temporary Roof Cover PVC plastic panels are stacked on either side of the horizontal tensile cables. On starting the mechanism, panels slide on rails and cascade to form a transluscent cover over the central part of the open air theatre.
Primary Structure A Pair of trusses runs on either side of seating area. The trusses are stiened with diagonal members that prevent relative movement. The two masses are hollow with the shell formed of screed concrete, filled between mild and stints.
Structure of edition The part of structure added to existing building is basically supported by X shape column which cancels the load using tensile wire in between.
Roof
Keeping it open gives us an opportunity to use clean energy. In the day time there is no need for any artificial light in OAT.

Professional Work
the busride design studio Mumbai, INDIA Ar. Zameer Basrai, Designer Ayaz Basrai
Saj Resort, Mahabaleshwar The task of this project was to Redesign the spaces of an existing hotel, interior and exterior both type of spaces. The site has a huge potential as it is situated in between hills in Mahabaleshwar, a famous destination for tourists coming for the best views of western ghats.
Saj Resort, Malshej This is another destination under the same client, a similar kind of project. Here extention of an existing hotel was desired. It mainly includes a cabana and adjoining open seating area around nearby lake.
My work included the site visits, interaction with the client, design discussions, preparation of 3D model & construction drawings.

One of the most challening work I was involved in. This unbelievably curved wall is inspired from wave pattern, to provide an iconic backdrop to cabana we selected this wall. This is modeled in revit.
