SAHARA OASIS Extreme conceptual habitat challenge ISU Core Studio Spring 2019
As the population of Oasis increases, new prototype habitats are developed 2 miles apart and connectedthrough public transportation. This allows for a highly connected and accessible city with no cars and populations of one million people and up. The negative space between units allows uptimal space for solar energy harvest that can be replaced by organic development as the communities grow and the effects of desertification are reversed. Over time, units will develop their own unique identity and remain part of a larger network, resulting in vibrant life throughout the Oasis. Each prototype habitat comes equiped with central building that provides a higher density lifestyle for 500 residents. The Core encase a self-sufficient community capable of live, work, and play and the membrane of The Core houses Metalic Organic Compounds (MOF) used in collecting water from the desert atmosphere and distributing the water to its corresponding prototype habitat. The core also serves as a transportation hub for each prototype habitat, connecting to other units through new age public transportation.

Within area of 0.5 mi x 0.5 mi, we were able to expand a design to 1,000,000 (2.5mi x 2.5mi) as desired by the population moving in to the place. The challenge invites ideas that push the boundaries of design using a habitat model, material, technology, a nomadic yet rooted lifestyle.

Site Analysis The existing building in arsenale area restricted to three level maximum. The proposed site in red is oriented toward the centre of the area and the outer edge. The lagoon setting a couryard-like axis for neighboring buildings.
Adjacent Culture Facilities The Biennale le Arsenale and multiple historical sites act as an attractor for visitors and tourist. A collective interface between museums, exhibitions, and a soccer stadium.
Pedestrian Connections Multiple connections across the lagoon links the site with the biennale and the stadium axially. The large urban context is accessible from two main boat stops and intersections.
North West Diagonal Precinct Axis This urban interface of utilizing and stretching the views from the site. Figuring out views towards the site from different approaches to see how the site would respond. What are the best views of the site, and would these change in the long term?.
Function Overview Axonometric The result of combining final building size and floor platforms. Layout serves a staging experience into three layers that perform as a progression. The structural frame upleft slabs and intersected projected form to maximizie in space between.

CINCINNATI LINEAR PARK Consideration of landscape as a constructed artifact Cincinnati, Spring 2019
Cincinnati Highline is an urban design concept proposal. The project concentrated on a Utilization between urban strategy and accumulation of social interaction and public intervention. Based on the adaptation of Highline in New York, we are navigating different levels to address multiple opportunity to pedestrians, and bikers into exploring the city in convenience. We divided the levels into three main pathways. First is the original highway in Fort Washington, the second is presented as the street holding cars and pedestrians, and the third level which is only occupied by pedestrians. The plaza acts as an initial connection between groundlevel and proposed highline. By creating a “knot” the proposed area will be enriched with an extension of social interaction, and human intervention. The Fort Washington way created a visionary between the downtown and the waterfront. Concept relies on intertwine these two substances together in order to pave the way for public intervention, that will benefit the community nearby.

Site Plan Overview Consideration of landscape as a constructed, cultural artifact. Project address the perceptual aspects and strategies of situation and location; examination of environmental phenomena and patterns of use and settlement as revealed and affected by the architectural artifact. Development of a critical design process is stressed. Section Thesis: For an anticipatory (speculative) architectural proposal; the project explore the blur of boundaries b/w architecture and landscape while focusing on organic (botanical) thinking.

East Section of Site A Plaza
These distinct districts would be interconnected by a transportation system with allocated circulation for automobiles and pedestrian traffic while the central business section of the city was to be comprised.
West Section cut
An effective transportation and an abundance of green space, and sunlight are the hallmarks of an urban utilization.
