ABBY ALLDAFFER WORKS
Chihuly Collection at Morean Arts Center St Petersburg, Florida
All photos in this series were
taken in response to the emotional quality of Chihuly's work. The sunburst creates a sense of passion, the smaller pieces represent a grounded state, while the boat of glass marbles can be viewed as playful and creative. Viewed together they form an evocative set of photographs which engage viewers through emotion and immersion.

Sensory Installation East River Flats - Minneapolis, MN
The East River Flats has many sensory
qualities that are latent in the site itself. By drawing attention to those qualities, explorers are invited to experience certain places along the path that may be overlooked, through sensory input and latent memory.
Precedent Study
Summer
Norwegian National Opera House Oslo, Norway
winter
When approaching a precident study on the Norwegian National Opera House, my partner and I focused mostly on cultural symbolism and placement
within the project. The opera house seems to float on top of the fjord which extenuates Norway's connection with the sea and with the greater world. The building is very low to the ground and stretches horizontally rather than vertcally. The roof wraps around like a ribbon with accessble space on the top and sides of the structure. This accessibility is something that is culturally significant in terms of relating the building to the culture and the surroundings of the Norwegian landscape. This was shown through a sanded MDF and acrylic model. The building also has a large connection with nature in that it changes through the seasons. In the winter, it appears to blend in with the ice and creates the appearent image of a building growing out of the ocean. In the summer the building is visible from the water and stands out as a significant cultural landmark. A composite diagram was made to show this shift.
Proposal for a new rock climbing recreational center East River Flats - Minneapolis, MN
The East River Flats is one of the few plac-
es in central Minnesota where the topography is so intriguing yet underused. Much of the flats hold breathtaking views of the Mississippi but are yet missing out on the opportunity to connect the University of Minnesota to the river. The most intriguing thing that was discovered about the flats was its many experiential qualities. Through a series of design manuevers, the new rec center connects the University with the flats while framing and drawing people in to key points along the axial connection. This was done primarily throuh terracing within the landscape. The center was formed as a series of terraces which physically connected campus to the river itself. The terraces then radiate throughout the landscape to form patios within the landscape to capture important views and experiences.

The rock climbing wall
itself is used as a programmatic threshold within the building. Rock climbers and enthusiasts would move through the lobby and down the stairs into the rock climbing area in which they would have the opportunity to climb the rock wall.
At the top of the rock wall there is a relief point where successful climbers are rewarded with sweeping views of the river and surroundings. From there climbers are encouraged to continue down to the river through the rest of the building and terraces.
