BUSINESS STRATEGY
PROGRAMMING
The business strategy of Tony Riviera is to create a market hall which will include a restaurant, a market and prepared food area. The client’s idea is to serve sustainable and high-quality food.
Restaurant-bar
The goal is to create a sophicticated place where people in the neighborhood will love to meet. The priorities of the place are to create approachable atmosphere through the design.
THE NAME When I was thinking what the name of the brand of the market will be, my first idea was to name it after the client. Firstly, Tony Riviera is a well known businessman, he already has a successful business in San Diego, Seattle. The market will bring success to him, and in future, I’m assured the market becomes a world-known.
Market Hall will open at 6 AM with fresh bakery It will continue work after 4 pm for late lunch At 5 pm the restaurant will serve happy hour And after 6 pm the restaurant can be reserved for private events It will include: Community tables Bar Open kitchen long cooking line pizza oven
The market will include: Shelving area seafood meet case charcuterie Walk-in freezer prepare food sushi

CONCEPT Volcanic Lightning is a mysterious and breathtaking phenomenon that rarely happens in the world. For the market, I will design in contemporary style with upscale decor. Also, the concept of volcanic lighting incorporates the idea to create the market hall an exclusive place that does not have any analogous in the world. I want it become one of the best marketplace in San Francisco, where people will have the high quality of food, shop for up-scale grocery and experience the beautiful interior design.

DEVELOPMENT
The priority of the design is to create the easy navigation through space. Because of the place has a narrow floor plan and tall ceiling, I brought the lights down. The circulation of the space helps with the marketing aspect of the place. In the middle, there would be prepared food area, where people could buy food from the market. There will be 3 entries, from the restaurant, prepared food and market. This will allow to customer access to the store easily.

Ernest Mariotto is an art collector. He in his late 60s. He spends at his office or at home most of his time. He loves to collect paintings and sculptures. For his home, he wants an open space with minimum decoration.
An eclipse is an astronomical event that occurs when an astronomical object is temporarily obscured, either by passing into the shadow of another body or by having another body pass between it and the viewer. The term eclipse is most often used to describe

either a solar eclipse when the Moon’s shadow crosses the Earth’s surface or a lunar eclipse, when the Moon moves into the Earth’s shadow. However, it can also refer to such events beyond the Earth–Moon system: for example, a planet moving into the shadow cast by one of its moons, a moon passing into the shadow cast by its host planet, or a moon passing into the shadow of another moon. A binary star system can also produce eclipses if the plane of the orbit of its constituent stars intersects the observer’s position

OFFICE Contemporary style with a hint of semi-minimalism is indeed cut out perfectly for an office space. The client most of his time would spend at his office. There are a lot of storage spaces, two tables, one for him and one for his assistant. I created a contemporary office that is inviting, yet equally masculine with a touch of creativity. A hint of polished wood, honed marble is a great way to make the place perfect for the owner.

National Geographic office is located at 34 Graham Street. The building is located in one of the more open and formal areas of the Presidio near a school and recreation facilities, and the adjacent parking lot hosts food trucks on a regular basis. Following the general look of the area, it is a Mission Revival style stucco exterior with red clay tile roof. The building structure is steel post and beam, not sprinkled, and the top floor currently has an open ceiling, revealing the steel joist roof framing, a lightweight truss system. The building has two above grade levels and a full basement. Total building area is approximately 20,000 SQ. ft.

CONCEPT Erosion. In Earth science, erosion is the action of the surface process (such as water flow or a wind) that remove soil, rock or dissolved from one location on the Earth’s crust, then transport it away to another location. Erosion is a natural process which human don’t have a control off. At Presidio, the site for National Geographic some trails have been eroded by rain. Also, in San Francisco ocean beach has been eroded by weathering. I relate erosion to National Geographic because magazine primarily focuses on articles about geography, history, and world culture. Even erosion destroy sites but the process of it is fascinating. Erosion leaves beautiful marks on a surface. One of my inspiration for the concept was Antelope Canyon. It was formed by erosion of Navajo Sandstone by flash flooding and air erosion processes. Over time the passageways eroded away, making the corridors deeper and smoothing hard edges.

SUN ANALYSIS Sunlight is strongest on the south wall. This is the right quadrant for the living room and other spaces that will be used throughout the day. For heat gain, I located rooms with south-facing windows. Another good choice for the window location are North side, where the rooms will have a great view. In hot areas, it’s the most important window to shade with trees. Therefore, I planted the trees around the building. During the winter we can watch the sun on East Side. Which 4 of the apartments are located. During the summer the sunrise is on west. Which is perfect for apartments located on west.

DINING AREA I designed a dining room with a purpose of the social gathering, because, food always br ings people together where, the big atrium brings the natural light to the space. The room is divided into four areas: dining, bar, open kitchen and outdoor seating. The purpose of designing the open kitchen is to have cooking classes. Therefore, there are tables for lessons, where most of the time, the place will be used as a buffet area.
