EDITOR’S LETTER
F
or a longtime I have been meaning to start a magazine, but never had enough time or the experience to create one. I learnt to create magazine pages and did endless research to be able to be where I am today with Manera.
With the topic of an urban environment I was able to jump straight in with an idea of what I wanted to do, I had it all planned in my head how exactly I was going to create my magazine. I visited areas that suited the topic and suited myself and explored the different fashion life styles and I wanted to share my experience with the world. This first issue of Manera is based on the trend of street style and how people have their own interpretaions of street style. Manera is alll about freedom within fashion, which to me is a movement within society. People who explore fashion and use this exploration in depth to create their own individual styles usually seem to stand out amongst others and are associated with many negative and sometimes positive behaviours. What are we really about? I can not tell you someone elses story but I can show you and hope you understand what fashion is about and what it means to different people. I hope that this first issue can be the introduction of many more to come and I hope that the message that I have planned to put across can help give you a different look upon street style and hope that you feel inspired by the content within the magazine to create your own style and inspire others!

TEEN SPIRIT
Teen Spirit We’re all rebels, of the same kind, Looking for a reason behind this life. Confusing are these explanations intertwined, It’s called Teen Spirit... Was a time, playing with cars and dolls, Gone are those days, we aren’t kids anymore. It’s all changed now, fashion and malls, The past is left beyond that door. We all wanna be rockstars and idols, Everything’s possible in this lifetime. This is our life, there ain’t no protocols, Spare a cent, spend a dime. You’ve got a crush on that girl, Your grades are rock bottom. Who cares, do we give a whirl? It’s called Teen Spirit...

SOUTH BANK T
he South Bank Skaters have been around for over 40 years. They are a community, a family and many careers have been formed from this one area created by skateers for skaters from all around the world over the years. Past skaters who have gone on to professional skating often visit the home of where it all begun for them, the stories are truly amazing and inspirational for everyone as well as the skaters.
The home of these skaters is currently due to close down if ÂŁ17million is not produced within 6months, frankly I think its impossible to achieve that amount within such little time so the members of LLSB (Long Live South Bank) are pleading with the public to donate to help save and protect their home.
Not everyone comes to south bank skate park to skate, but everyone comes to watch and support the skaters and even photographers and artists from around the world come to see the creativity of this popular community. The creativity of the graffiti, the various skates and bikes are what make this community so great and popular. We just hope the government and public see the beauty of this historical place and help protect it.
You can visit their website and watch videos of what some of the community and LLSB members of south bank have said about their beloved area, also you can find out more information about where you can donate to this landmark. http://www.llsb.com/

Ceejay is a fashion obsessed indivudal who is in love with accessories and trainers, whether it's a Supreme snapack to Maison Martin margiela trainers. He has always been fashion conscious but has been recently been noticed for his fashion sense in the past two years. Ceejay doesn't dress in a single style. His style changes from day to day. One day he might feel like he needs to dress like a skater, another day he might feel like dressing in a vintage look and another day he might just create something that goes together nicely from scratch. People who know Ceejay know how diverse his fashion sense can be, his friends can vouch for him that what he was wearing last year is completely different to the way he dresses this year, With this in mind, he has always been able to dress uniquely and in a way that attracts attention, whether it's from young adults, teachers or age mates. Ceejay has also come to learn that rarely but sometimes not all his outfits are liked.

ONE F O R YOU?
As a young boy living in this current society I personally think individuality is key. Fashion has become a big aspect in my life right now, its not just an interest of mine, it is a lifestyle. I’ve been embracing my own sense of fashion since the age of 15 and now I have the confidence to take it onto another level I would describe my personal style as 90’s street wear fashion. i’m surrounded with peers that are interested in the same fashion genre as me, this benefits me in many ways because i am able to feel free and express my interest without feeling restrained to their views, also they are there to introduce me to new bands. Many individuals often don’t understand my style but some compliment it, I think this is because not everybody thinks they can pull it off but in my opinion everyone has the ability to because you can make anything your style as long as you add your own edge. I get my inspiration from the likes of Ian Connor and A$AP Rocky, I think their style is unique and very much within the high fashion status. To sum this up I would describe my style as cool, laid back and quirky.

Changing and emphasising my style is possibly the hardest fashion journey I've put myself through. I have been going through this journey for a couple of years now, exploring different styles to find that one style that perfectly suits me and a style that I feel comfortable yet confident in. For the past couple of weeks, months even, I've been shopping and ordering online for things which are related to the style that I love the most. I've purchased these items and used my old clothes to re invent the style with my own personal touches. So what exactly is my style? Well I love the 90s and I'd like to portray my love for what it is to me the best era of fashion through what I wear. This style inspiration has came from the likes of Lauryn Hill, Will Smith, Salt 'n' Pepper and so many other fashion pioneers, but as a teen in the modern world I do get caught up with the trends that I feel that can make the looks more interesting and creative. I just have an all round love for fashion that is not able to be explained in anyway, many people can understand this passion and the people in my surroundings see the love that I have for fashion. It is literally my first love everything I do is always in relation to fashion in some way, right from lifestyle television programmes, and everything else that I can't think of, is all in the name of fashion. The confidence that I have gained from fashion has been spectacular and I really couldn't put in words the way fashion has made me feel about myself, I have put my life into the hands fashion and really could not be more thankful for everything it has done for me. Fashion has made me and has made me the woman that I am today. Sharing this journey is the most enjoyable thing and hope you all enjoy my story. Also I just hope it inspires you all to do something in the name of fashion!
