At Able Canopies Ltd, we have a simple mission - to provide safe and stylish weather protection that transforms outside spaces. They provide shade and shelter from the worst of the weather, allowing movement between buildings or generally making the outside space more comfortable. Product Updates The Welford Dome

We have increased the span of Welford Dome Free Standing Canopy from 1 metre between the roof bars to 4 metres. To allow for the extra weight on the bars, the curved roof bars have been increased from 50mm x 50mm to 60mm x 60mm and feature smaller infill bars at every 1 metre in between the roof bars. We have been working with a structural engineer to make cost saving design improvements to the Welford Dome and Kensington free standing canopy ranges, without compromising the structural integrity. This will make them more cost-effective, easier to install and all-round better structures.

The new design creates a stylish half-moon appearance rather than just a curve, which we feel improves the aesthetics perfectly.

Above: The New Welford Dome Free Standing Canopy Design

Kensington Free Standing Canopy Range

The Kensington range has been revamped with updates to the popular Kensington Mono-Pitch Free Standing Canopy and the Kensington DualPitch Free Standing Canopy. The spacing between the canopy arms were previously just 1 metre and we have now increased it to 4 metres which in turn, makes the steel frame much more cost effective. Not only does this make the Kensington Canopies easier to install, resulting in our installation teams spending less time on-site, making way for your other contractors to arrive following our completion.

The Ashton Wall Mounted Canopy

Coniston 6 Wall Mounted Canopy

The Ashton Wall Mounted Canopy was previously supplied in Traffic White (RAL 9016) as standard however, it is now supplied in Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016) as standard instead, due to the popularity of this colour with the Ashton.

The Coniston 6 has also received a standard colour change, previously the Coniston 6 was only available in Traffic White (RAL 9016) as standard whoever, it is now also available in Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016), giving you a choice of two standard colours.

The Ashton is still available in any other RAL colour however, they will incur an additional cost.

As with the Ashton, the Coniston 6 is also available in any other RAL colour at an additional cost.

Our Service from Design to Completion

Enquiry

Your experience with the canopy experts starts from the moment you send us your enquiry which you can send direct to Josh by email: josh@ablecanopies.co.uk or post: Able Canopies Ltd., 9-11 Faraday Close, Gorse Lane Industrial Estate, Clacton on Sea, Essex, CO15 4TR Once we've received the enquiry, we will take a look through the documents provided and determine whether one of our standard products fit the spec, or if a bespoke structure would be best suited.

Estimate

If our standard products have been specified, we will reply with a formal estimate. However, if a bespoke product is required, we may contact you to discuss our product proposals that match your design requirements. Once everyone's happy with the design, we will also send a formal estimate.

Site Meetings

We are more than happy to attend any site meetings to discuss the design further if required. We are fully trained and certified to be on construction sites and hold all the required certifications which you can read more about on page 6.

Order

Once you place your order, we will arrange a pre site meeting, to assess the area and confirm access equipment needed. We will also arrange for any drawings required to be sent over for ‘sign off’.

Installation

After all necessary details are set in place, the installation will be booked in at a date that suits all parties involved. Again, at this point if you require us to attend any further site meetings, we are happy to do so. The installation will be completed, and we'll keep you up to date with our progress.

Aftersales Service

Our service will not end with the installation. Upon completion, we can attend a sign-off meeting if required. We will also send the guarantee certificate (if applicable) and the O&M Manual pack in the post. Both of these are for the end user so they can maintain the canopy to ensure the validation of the guarantee and ensure the validation of the guarantee/warranties (where applicable). If you have any queries or issue with the canopy, we are here to take your calls and can come back to site if required. Able Canopies is proud of their high customer satisfaction levels with both contractors and direct clients and continue to be of service after the canopy installation.

When it comes to working on a project, there’s so many products to specify and it helps if you know a little about each of them. There are three learning aims within the CPD which are:

Ÿ The benefits a canopy can bring to an environment Ÿ The features and benefits of the materials and finishes available Ÿ The canopy design options available

Watch the CPD to:

Being Professional on Site

Our work on site is driven by our total commitment to safety, not just for our own employees but for all project personnel. Our site teams are fully trained and their authorisations are regularly updated. Each installation team has a working site supervisor with SSSTS, first aid, PASMA and IPAF, plus relevant training for all tasks on site. We have also put our teams through SEATS training and we are members of Acclaim and have Constructionline Gold status. We carry out all our own groundworks (if required) as this allows us to maintain control of all the key elements of our installation – the right spec, completed on time and neatly finished. There is no disconnect between what the job requires and what is delivered.

Our Commitment to Quality

Our products are made to the highest quality standards. We have been certified by ISOQAR, an accredited certification body to manufacture products that are CE/UKCA marked. We are also certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 which shows our commitment to a quality management system, environment awareness and health and safety system.

We’ve Made the Change from CE to UKCA You may have noticed on our website and literature that in-line with the new legalisation, we have made the change from CE to UKCA so all our steel and aluminium structures are now UKCA marked as from October 2021. The changeover was first introduced on 1st January 2021 however, businesses have until 1st January 2023 to make the change. We wanted to make sure we got in there fairly quickly to ensure it was all set inplace because after all, being organised is key when it comes to success. Benjamin Franklin's famous quote “For every minute spent organising, an hour is earned” rings very true here. If you're not sure what the changeover is, here's a snippet taken from the government's website:

Certificate number: 0513 BS EN 1090

Selling goods in Great Britain The UKCA marking applies to most goods previously subject to the CE marking. It also applies to aerosol products that previously required the 'reverse epsilon' marking.

the CE marking, you will be able to do the same for the UKCA marking.

The technical requirements ('essential requirements') you must meet – and the conformity assessment processes and standards that can be used to demonstrate conformity – are largely the same as they were for the CE marking.

The CE marking is only valid in Great Britain for areas where GB and EU rules remain the same. If the EU changes its rules and you CE mark your product on the basis of those new rules you will not be able to use the CE marking to sell in Great Britain, even before 31 December 2022.

The circumstances in which you can use self-declaration of conformity for UKCA marking are the same as for CE marking. If you were able to self-declare conformity for

You must use the UKCA marking from 1 January 2023. You can still use the CE marking until then.

What’s New? We’re Going Green... One Tree at a Time Lowering our carbon footprint, looking after our planet, and giving back to the earth is something that has become very important to us over the years. In general, it’s impossible for us to achieve all the wonderful things we’d love to achieve whilst still running a profitable business however, we have introduced some fantastic schemes, and achieved certifications from some highly creditable awarding bodies. Our latest scheme could benefit your school clients that are working towards lowering their carbon footprint. We have teamed up with The Tree Appeal and have pledged to plant two trees for every school canopy order installed since October 2021 onwards. We’ll plant one tree in the UK and a ‘twinning’ tree in Africa.
