One of Europe’s strongest clusters In 2013, BrainsBusiness was awarded the gold medal from the EU Commission for being one of the most efficient and well-run clusters in Europe, thus emphasising how we have found the key to creating success in the interaction between research, industry and business development initiatives. The medal is awarded for, among other things, the cluster’s results, strategy,
service and addition of value to the cluster members through for instance knowledge sharing and facilitation of collaboration.

Telecommunication North Denmark has a long history of being a hub for world-leading telecommunications technology. Smart grid North Denmark is home to a range of experts within smart grid. Researchers at Aalborg University are coveted by companies and research institutions all over the world, and the close contact between power producers – including sustainable energy sources such as wind turbines and wave turbines – and consumers constitute a unique environment for research and development of the smart grid of the future.

Health care / welfare technology Health care and welfare technology are topics that both researchers, industry and society at large are focused on in the North Denmark ICT cluster.
