Sasha and her husband Richard came to Suffolk in 2005 and loved it so much they wanted to share it with others so set up Mollett’s Farm. This offers self-catering holiday accommodation in seven cottages and studios, a site for touring caravans and motorhomes and a pop-up campsite over the summer.
FAVOURITE SHOP I don’t have a favourite shop as such. I love all the individual shops as it is possible to find unique and individual items to treasure, many crafted by local artisans using local produce and products.
FAVOURITE PLACE TO EAT
The Duck at Campsea Ashe – great food, fantastic friendly service and, as they say, “walk in, waddle out”.
FAVOURITE SPOT TO GRAB A DRINK
Vela in Saxmundham, which is also an Art Gallery serves tasty coffee and cakes, light bites, and speciality German food, as well as wine and beer from local breweries – we love it!
FAVOURITE LOCALLY PRODUCED TREATS
Too many to mention really, without offending someone. This area is definitely a must for foodies!
FAVOURITE WALK Minsmere for its ever-changing environment over the seasons and the diversity of wildlife as well as scenery.
FAVOURITE BEACH Sizewell beach – often overlooked – great café there too. BEST REASON TO VISIT All the above, plus Suffolk has something for everyone. It is diverse, ever-changing, and always engaging.
BEST OF ALL!
Suffolk is the UK’s best kept secret! Once visited, never forgotten.
THE FRONT ROOM
Nestled amongst the independent shops of Earsham Street is The Front Room, a small neighbourhood bakery run by family and friends. A delicious rotation of homemade food showcases the variety of outstanding local produce and the talents of their bakers. Daily organic sourdough, handmade pastries, savouries and sweets, wholesome salads, light lunch options and speciality coffee to go. A favourite of locals and visitors alike, expect good music and a warm welcome. Takeaway only.
