an Fong is an artist and fashion designer who studied fashion and art at (POLYU)H K and (FIT)NY C. Yan specializes in design direction and art development and founded Decoartpiece as an international platform to capture disappearing memories that are fading out slowly from the big cities in a specific time and space by creating timeless art piece from a designer aesthetic view in a vintage yet contemporary style. Using collage paint with mixed medium in an abstract style on rich texture surface such as wood and steel is her favorite way to presents her taste of simply luxury for interior décor. Yan’s work always captures the most signature elements as the visual message with strong color impact which captures the vintage elements that are fading out slowly from the cities. Yan’s vision is to call for public attention to disappearing cultures in a FOCUS | 8
specific time and space by creating timeless aesthetics art piece in a designer aes thetic view . Yan’ s art topic “Disappearing Memory Series” had received highly recognition from the art industry and loved by international press and media. Disappearing Memory Series is a collection of visual images which captures a group of vintage elements that are fading out slowly from the cities. They call for our attention to disappearing cultures in a specific time and space ¿

M
arc Newton is an artist based in Savannah, GA whose focus is conceptual landscape photography. His reoccurring theme investigates human culture responding to the non-human world. Marc has traveled throughout the United States making work including his most series, Constructed Paradise. For years, his work process involved bringing full sized mannequins to locations in State Parks and National Parks ranging from Washington, California, Arizona, to North Carolina and down to Florida. The encroachment of the human figure is intended to provoke viewers to question their own imprint on the land and to examine photography’s role in both constructing and dismantling a mythic vision of landscape as Paradise. The provocative and confrontational nature of mannequins can elicit the uncanny. While representing an encouraged body type, they reflect our depende nce on control and desire for aesthetic beauty. He has exhibited his work throughout the United States, as well as internationally. In 2014, he showed his series Constructed Paradise at The Bradford Washburn American Mountaineering Museum in Golden, CO, as well as in Non-Fiction Gallery in Savannah, GA. He has also been featured in Photographers forum, among other exhibition catalogues,and is on the 2014 Fotofilmic short list. In 2010 Marc Graduated from Brevard College with a Bachelor in Arts, he also studied at Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia. He had lived in Western, NC for several years before living in Savannah. Early in 2013, Marc interned for Jill Greenberg in Los Angeles.This year he completed his Masters in Fine Arts at Savannah College of Art and Design where he also works as a staff photographer in their Department of Communications.

ates has BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is a Fulbright Fellow for study at Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland. Oates has shown in NYC at Pierogi Gallery, Nurture Art, Momenta Art, Associated Gallery, Susan Eley Fine Art, The Central Park Arsenal Gallery and The Center for Book Arts. Oates works on paper are in many public collections including the Harvard University Libraries, The Brooklyn Museum Artists' Book Collection, The Walker Art Center Libraries, The Smithsonian Libraries and the Franklin Furnace Archive at MoMA. Statement The Transitory Space series deals with urban and natural locations that are transforming due to the passage of time, altered natural conditions and a continual human imprint. In everyone and in everything there are daily changes and FOCUS |Â 28
this series articulates fluctuation in the photograp hic image and captu res movement through time and space. Transitory spaces have a messy human energy that is perpetually in the present yet continually altering. They are endlessly interesting, alive places where there is a great deal of beauty and fragility. They are temporary monuments to the ephemeral nature of existence.

ACHRAF BAZNANI
M
oroccan photographer and filmmaker Achraf Baznani creates surreal scenarios through his wildly imaginative and wholly impractical imagery. A small human figure, often the artist himself, can be found throughout – sometimes appearing trapped within a glass jar or even shrunk to the size of a camera lens. Baznani hopes that the viewer perceives his strong senses of humor and wonder. A self-taught artist, Baznani has no formal photography training. He recently published his second photobook, « Inside my dreams » which shows that pictures truly speak louder than words. We hope you find Baznani’s creations unique and inspiring!
