Sonam’s outfit for King Charles’ coronation concert had an Indian connection
KingCharles III’s coronation concert included performances and appearances from several celebrities Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor, who lives in London with husband and businessman Anand Abuja and their son Vayu made a spoken word performance to introduce the Commonwealth virtual choir This was her first appearance at an event for the royal family
For the event, Sonam opted for a floorlength gown co-designed by Kolkata-based Anamika Khan and UK-based designer Emilia Wickstead The bespoke floor-length gown for the concert featured a band detail around the shoulders that framed the corseted bodice, extending into a full skirt lined with architectural godet pleats
Designed by Wickstead, the calico-inspired print to finish the entire look was contributed by Khanna A report by Vogue India said the Indian designer took inspiration from the 17th and 18th-century calico prints, a commodity commonly traded between India and the UK in the past
On the work front, Sonam is all set to make a comeback with Shome Makhija’s ‘Blind ’ This will be her first film since she gave birth to her son Vayu Kapoor Ahuja in August last year The first look from the film was shared by the director on Instagram last month
The movie features Sonam in the lead role, with Purab Kohli, Vinay Pathak and Lillete Dubey in supporting roles ‘Blind’ is a remake of the 2011 Korean film of the same name and centres around a blind police officer searching for a serial killer
Turkish actor Burak Deniz’s first India trip features visit to the ISKCON temple
Turkish actor Burak Deniz was in Mumbai last week, a part of his “excellent” India trip Known for shows such as ‘Don’t Leave’ and ‘The Ignorant Angels,’ he attended an event with actors Anil Kapoor, Sobhita Dhulipala and Aditya Roy Kapur A video showed him grooving to Salman Khan and Samir Khan’s song ‘Ye Rat Aur Ye Door’ from their cult film ‘Andaz Apna Apna ’ Deniz also recently visited the ISKCON temple in Mumbai and shared many videos and photos on Instagram
Sharing clips of the Mumbai skyline, he wrote in his Instagram caption, “India It was an excellent experience, thank you!” He shared some videos of the prayers at the ISKCON temple He also posted photos and videos of himself with a flower garland around his neck There was also a picture of him sitting inside the temple with folded hands
