Includes: • About Me • A Photoshoot with Roxanne • A Photoshoot with Rachel

About I am a third year Digital Media student studying at Sheffield Hallam, targeting for at least a 2.1 or First Class Masters Degree. I am reliable, hard-working and motivated when it comes to learning new skil s and experimenting with all media softwares and photography. With recently transferring to MArt Digital Media Production, it has allowed me to practice and learn new skil s to gain expertise within my interest of Photography. Giving me the experience of working with different models, in different environments and for events/companies which has been enjoyable. I have recently worked for RedBull UK at their PaperWings event which was new and enjoyable. This lookbook wil give you a brief insight on what I chose to get involved with for my Creative Project at University, looking into my two favourite photoshoots I did with my models Roxanne and Rachel.

All photographs in this Lookbook are my own, taken and edited in Photoshop by myself. All photographs wil be published onto my website at: www.abbie-bradshaw.co.uk

Roxanne

Think creative.. but a dark side of creative.. this photoshoot was inspired by a great photographer named Margarita Kareva; whos work is based around certain mystical stories to give a certain look and feel to her photographs. This shoot with Roxanne was similar to that, not as much telling stories, but using certain props and editing styles to create a certain dark/mystical mood to the photograph. It was my aim to create pieces of work which had some sort of mysterious, dark look to the photographs with Roxanne, using certain props, actions and brushes on Photoshop to achieve this. The next few photographs wil be from the photoshoot I did with Roxanne. My favourite shoot within the creative project.

This photograph of Roxanne holding the bouquet of roses was by far my favourite shot. Keeping in mind the mood I was going for in this photograph, there are dark tones and mist features added behind Roxanne, which not only makes her stand out, but creates the tone on her face, bringing out her eyes. As you can tell by the mood I was going for in this photoshoot, it was important for me to stay consistent with each photograph. Clarity played a massive part in all my photographs, as well as Vibrance and Saturation when editing in Camera Raw. Brushes also came to hand when creating the cloudy/mist look in the background!

In these photographs patricularly (previous page), I experienced something different when taking the photographs and the editing styles in Photoshop. I was going for more of a surreal look to the photographs, especial y when Roxanne has wings and holding a cage. All these surreal images were edited in Photoshop, the wings especial y were Brushes which I was able to edit the colour, look and lighting of to make them more realistic. As you can see in the mirror photograph on the left, I again wanted to create a surreal mood to the photograph, showing just a mirror on the floor with Roxanne’s face reflecting back. The more surreal these photographs were getting, the more better they looked! It was a great experience for me to try this out!

Whilst editing in Photoshop, it was always good for me to experiment more with the editing styles and techniques. Here in this photograph of Roxanne, I wanted to create the same look and feel to the shoot but change the image type to Black and White. Immediatley chanigng this photograph to Black and White had much more of an impact than other photographs, especial y with the black cloak. Adding white gradient fill towards the bottom of the photograph created a misty look and burning the background around Roxanne made her stand out a lot more This again was another favourite of mine from this dark/mystical photoshoot with Roxanne!

Once finishing this photoshoot with Roxanne, I achieved the mood and style I was going for with every photograph. When I finished this shoot with a dark/mystical side to it, I then went onto another photoshoot which was more happier and fairytale like with my model Rachel. Rachel This photoshoot was very different to Roxanne’s as I want the audience to think of fairytales, mystical and happy moments with this shoot - that was the aim for this photoshoot. Again using props, brushes and different editing techniques in Photoshop, it allowed me to achieve the looks I were going for in each

photograph. The photograph to the right is one of my favourite shots from the shoot. Shot from high above, with Rachel lying on the floor, I was able to create something different. The blue effect used in Photoshop allowed Rachel to stand out more, as well as the vibrant red roses around her.

These photographs of Rachel sat near the pond were two of my favourites from this shoot, purely because of the editing style I used in Photoshop to get them the colours they are. With the sun shining in the background, it changes the mood completely, especial y compared to the mood I was going for in Roxanne’s photoshoot. Not only do I like the colour of these photographs, but I like the way they model is coming across.

The overall photoshoot with Rachel I was very pleased with - I achieved the look I was going for which was a much more happier, fairytale style than the darker side with Roxanne. Using diffferent photoshop tools such as brushes, actions, clarity etc allowed me to create these good photographs. After taking the photographs from these shoots, I then moved onto Black and White portraits in a studio with my model Laura. All photographs wil be published on my website.
