INTRODUCTION Many times, I have been asked where to eat vegetables in Paris. Who is the best anti-jet lag massage therapist. Where to get a serious blow dry on a short notice, a quick fix for an eyebrow shaping... I have failed too often to provide my sophisticated visiting friends with the right info. I have been living in NYC for 5 years now. For a long time, I wasn’t aware how different the routines and habits were between Paris and Manhattan. I could have tell you where to buy cigarettes at 3 am. But kale and scrambled tofu for breakfast? A myofascial release specialist? Hmm. Honestly, no idea. So I’ve decided to tackle that issue and bring to my New York, Munich or San Paolo sophisticated friends the best tips and favorite haunts from my people in Paris. A quick caveat, though. In any way this guide pretends to be authoritative. Sometimes, the crowd in a restaurant will look more appealing than what you eat. And you may wonder why the tasteful people still come here season after season. If you ask, they’d shrug:”The patron is crazy.” Fashion people are creatures of habits. Not surprising, as their work is to program obsolescence. And they travel so much... The world, their playground. At relaxing time, they look for their nests, wherever the photo shooting is taking place. Like a family, they also share the same strict code for “stylish experience”: fun characters, unpretentious luxe, impeccable professionalism, outsized punch, authenticity. By following them, expect to be surprised, bewitched, puzzled, disappointed and bedazzled. But that’s all what fashion is about! Have fun,

Hôtel San Régis, 12, rue Jean Goujon, 75008. +(33) 1 44 95 16 16. Beyond the beaten path, this rococo palazzo, british style, has been lauded as an ideal nest for an afternoon “canaille” tryst or a secret early morning business meeting. Right behind avenue Montaigne & the famous couture houses, it’s also an ideal location for a secret lunch. Tel.

Near Trocadéro-Etoile Shangri-La, 10, avenue d’Iéna, 75116. Tel. +(33) 1 53 67 19 98. This new, upscale 81-room hotel with view on the Eiffel Tower, not far from le Trocadero is a spot-on example of world class opulence. It attracts the gourmets with its restaurants’ surprising Asian fusion cuisine, including the “glass-domed” brasserie La Bauhinia which usually can accommodate lunches without reservation. Every stylish international visitor would love the Napoleonian III grandeur of the building (formerly Roland Bonaparte’s mansion, 1896), the secluded garden, the Second Empire feeling of the private lounges. La Maison-Champs Elysées, 8, rue Jean Goujon, 75008. Tel. +(33) 1 40 74 64 65. Usually, fashion people avoid hotels designed by peers, would they be Olivier Lapidus or Christian Lacroix. But this 5 star is an exception. The 1866 building by the Triangle d’or is majestic. The Martin Margiela Maison signed decor (including six suites and 17 rooms) with its clinical white, is playful and soothing. Plus the whole place is a recommendable 66 vegetable restaurants
