FetaLink live in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) On May 5th, 2014, Al Corniche Hospital went live with FetaLink along with addi onal PowerChart Maternity func onality. Al Corniche is located in Abu Dhabi on the coast of the Persian Gulf, southwest of Dubai. They were the first in the UAE to allow husbands in opera ng rooms during Cesarean sec ons and were named a "Baby Friendly" hospital by the World Health Organiza on and UNICEF. The Women’s Health team is excited to welcome the Al Corniche Hospital team to our client family and are eagerly an cipa ng the five addi onal hospital conversions later this summer. PowerChart Maternity live at Imperial College Healthcare (NHS Trust) On April 28th, 2014, Queen Charlo e’s & Chelsea Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital which are part of the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The Trust was created on October 1, 2007 by merging St Mary’s NHS Trust and Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust and integra ng with the faculty of medicine at Imperial College London. Now one of the largest NHS trusts in the country, they are also one of the United Kingdom’s first academic health science centres (AHSCs). The maternity service provides care for over 9,000 women and their babies each year. They care for parents and their babies during pregnancy, labour, birth and up un l one month a er birth through the maternity units at Queen Charlo e’s & Chelsea and St Mary’s hospitals. Queen Charlo e’s & Chelsea Hospital is a ter ary referral maternity unit with a na onally renowned centre for fetal care and the largest neonatal intensive care unit in the country. It has a labour ward with two fully equipped opera ng theatres adjacent to high-dependency care facili es.

Beth Hopkins—Clinical Strategist I am originally from a small farming town in central Illinois. I have been a RN for 28 years, with most of my career spent in all areas of Women’s Health. In 2006, I was able to pursue my educa on goals, obtaining my BSN and MSN at Millikin University in Decatur IL. I now live in Liberty, MO with my husband Mike and our two Cavashons, Sophie and Lex. Together, we have 5 adult children. I enjoy reading, sunlight, gardening, cycling, and swimming.

Prior to coming to Cerner, I was in Medical Sales for outpa ent se ngs. My focus as a Client Service Manager is to develop reference partners, improve client sa sfac on through my interac ons with the client teams, onsite workflow assessments, op miza on opportuni es and sales support. I love to read, swim, camp and go to the lake. I am currently training for my first NANBF compe on and am ready to step on stage in 2 weeks. Maintaining Industry Awareness
End of Support for FetaLink on CareAware iBus 1.3
Cerner has set an end-of-support date of June 30, 2014 for all versions of FetaLink on CareAware iBus 1.3. Additionally, support for FetaLink
Neonatal Encephalopathy Report ACOG and the American Academy of Pediatrics have issued a joint Task Force Report en tled Neonatal Encephalopathy and Neurologic Outcome 2nd. ed. that recommends a broad evalua on of all poten al contribu ng factors in every case of neonatal encephalopathy, including maternal medical history, obstetric and intrapartum factors, and placental pathology. This recommenda on is a shi from the 2003 report, which focused more on determining whether or not a hypoxic-ischemic event (lack of oxygen to the fetus around the me of birth) was the cause of neonatal encephalopathy. Neonatal Brachial Plexus Palsy Neonatal Brachial Plexus Palsy is a new ACOG Task Report which examines the peer-reviewed scientific research and relevant historical literature on NBPP. The report gives prominent attention to the pathophysiology and causation of the injury.
More broadly, the report is intended to inform ACOG's membership of the existing state of knowledge about etiology, as well prediction, management, and treatment of neonatal brachial plexus palsy, and to serve as a resource for all health care providers involved in intrapartum care and delivery.
The Executive Summary of the task force report is published in the April issue of Obstetrics & Gynecology. The full report is available to ACOG members on ACOG's website. Nonmembers may obtain the report at the ACOG Bookstore.

FetaLink Technical Training Summary
End of Support for FetaLink 1.9.3
On April 25th, the Women’s Health ABU hosted the FetaLink Technical Training event at Cerner’s Innova on Campus in Kansas City. The event was a ended by a wide range of technical resources from both Client Hosted and Remote Hosted facili es. Instructors focused on the technical aspects of the FetaLink solu on deployment.

Client Spotlight
Meaningful Use has been a major concern for our clients as well as for Cerner and the PowerChart Maternity team. In an effort to help our clients meet Meaningful Use accreditation and to help our content ensure compliance, we have updated our Risk Factor rules released on our Ambulatory and Inpatient PowerChart Maternity packages. The rules have always placed problems onto the patient’s chart when a risk factor is documented in our Risk Factor DTA, but not all of the problems placed had SNOMED codes.
Ventura County Health Care Agency On July 1, 2013, Ventura County Health Care Agency (VCHCA) went live with over 50 solu ons at two hospitals, a 70-bed inpa ent psych unit, and 48 outpa ent clinics that provide medical services to the 840,000 (largely Spanish-speaking) people throughout Ventura County. On that infamous day of Go-Live, PowerChart Maternity and FetaLink were implemented across our two hospitals; Ventura County Medical Center and Santa Paula Hospital, and thirteen outpa ent sites that provide prenatal care. That day we traded in paper records; an an quated MEDITECH EHR and lab so ware system, and TraceVue fetal monitoring for our Health-e-Connect state-of the-art Cerner system. Approximately 200 babies a month are delivered at Santa Paula Hospital and Ventura County Medical Center, both designated as Baby-Friendly Hospitals, a dis nc on held by less than 100 hospitals na onwide. Ventura County Medical Center is a Family Prac ce Doctor teaching hospital with 208 beds and is the only cer fied trauma-designated hospital in Ventura County. Its Level 3 NICU is the oldest in Ventura County, recently celebra ng its 80th anniversary. Our nurses and physicians do extensive training and provide learning opportuni es to other area NICU hospitals. One hundred Women’s Health Nurses and ancillary help were trained between March 1 and July 1, 2013. It was an arduous task that couldn’t have been done without the strong organiza onal skills of our Super User Team. Physicians were trained by the MD super users and nurses were trained by the nurses. In hindsight, I believe our system would work be er if we had more collabora on with the doctors and a more homogenous didac c. A big bump we encountered was due to a lack of training the end-users to choose the correct pa ent admission encounter. This caused a nightmare of back tracking and ge ng FIN numbers correct for billing and delivery data.

Unit of the Year Award Ventura County Medical Center During the week of May 11th - 17th, the Women's Health team at Cerner and Women's Health units and clinics across the country celebrated Na onal Women's Health Week! Each year we host a contest encouraging you to submit why your unit is the best and why you deserve to be recognized and we received some incredible submissions this year. We are excited to announce our winner and runner up for this year's contest: Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura, CA and The Valley Health System in Las Vegas, NV. Please take a moment to review both of their submissions in the Women’s Health Collabora on Community uCern group— both teams have had a great year! Thank you for your submissions and congratula ons to both of these units!

Alerting The “Silence” (Bell) icon allows users to "Silence" an alert for 30 seconds without being signed in to FetaLink. This ac on only silences the alarm on the local machine, and is not a global acknowledgement. The alarm will go off again and con nue to alert un l it has been acknowledged or the reason for the alarm has been resolved. Think of this as a “snooze” bu on. The “Acknowledge” (Green Checkmark) or “Acknowledge and Annotate” (Checkmark with Paperclip) will cancel the alert and the alert will remain cancelled un l another event triggers another alert. You must be signed in to FetaLink to perform these two ac ons.
