Tracking Shell The Tracking Shell is to be used as a workflow tool for our OB units. There are certain rules associated to the tracking shell that can place icons such as an FYI or a task that may need to be completed for the pa ent. For example a pa ent that is breas eeding may have an icon on the communica on column that reflects this or an icon within the to‐do column that means the pa ent needs to be discharged. U lizing rules can assist in crea ng a seamless workflow. It is intended to be used as a quick snapshot of where the pa ent is at in their labor process and is should be updated on a real‐ me basis to provide the most accurate informa on possible on the pa ent for all providers involved in their care. This also allows for the staff to update others at shi change.

What We’re Doing continued A new archive view will be available, providing one place for the clinician to go to find fetal strips that have already been completed. The system will handle the finalizing and archiving for the clinician behind the scenes. The strips will be grouped by pregnancy and will be linked, allowing for easy scrolling through them.
Package Release continued On August 21, 2014 we had an Illumination session that highlighted the MPages 5.3 enhancement and correction CR’s. The PowerPoint and recording can be accessed from this

Addi onal features and designs are in process that will allow the clinician to validate vital signs and document specific results from within the fetal monitor strip, keeping her in her workflow. Visual designs will be shared with you in future newsle ers, so stay tuned! If any OB nurses are interested in par cipa ng in usability studies to provide feedback to any of our new designs, please let us know! We are always looking for clinicians who are able spend no more than one hour on a web call to provide feedback to our usability researchers, so that we can ensure that the designs meet your needs. Women’s Health Newsletter Community Involvement Whisper Walk
The Women’s Health Team will be participating in the annual 5K Whisper Walk on September 21st in honor of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. This special event raises money and awareness for ovarian cancer education programs through the Vicki Welsh Ovarian Cancer Fund, a Kansas City-based ovarian cancer awareness fund.
What We’re Doing New Labor Partogram The Labor Partogram is a graphical/table display of key documenta on elements that provide a me specific record of labor progress and maternal physical condi on. It is a valuable tool that aids in iden fying early devia ons from the normal progress of ac‐ ve labor and maternal physiological deteriora on to facilitate mely decisions re‐ garding direct interven on or referral of care. The exis ng Partogram included within PowerChart Maternity today is a Win32 ap‐ plica on that can be launched from the Pregnancy Summary MPage, within IView and the Pregnancy History for historical pregnancies. This window is limited to 24 hours of data from the start me selected and must be canceled and restarted with a new me as needed. In addi on, the table requires horizontal scrolling while the graphs do not. The New Labor Partogram, currently in development, will be a Workflow MPages view accessed from the PowerChart Table of Contents or within a ViewPoint. The view will include graphs and tables and an overview component aligned to the same me‐ scale with the ability to scroll back within the laboring encounter. The view will also refresh at regular intervals to provide the most up to date informa on as it is docu‐ mented. We also plan to incorporate direct documenta on of discrete data from the MPage itself enabling clinicians to remain on the Partogram for immediate interpreta‐ on of progress and fewer naviga on clicks within PowerChart.
