Prevent potential patient merges in Patient-to-Device Association (P2DA) Some healthcare organiza ons have more than one registra on system genera ng pa ent iden fiers, (such as FIN or MRN) that are sent to Cerner Millennium. When this happens, the user could get a prompt in the P2DA dialog in FetaLink asking if they wish to reconcile or merge the current pa ent record with another one with the same pa ent iden fier. If the user selects “Yes,” pa ent records could be combined, overlaying one pa ent’s informa on, including iden fiers, with another pa ent’s informa on. This may lead to incorrect display of informa on in FetaLink and FetaLink+. By u lizing the CareAware iBus package:74126 on iBus version 2.5 or greater, sites can prevent the poten al merging of pa ent records during the P2DA process. It is important to ensure during package installa on that the P2DA config.cerner file is set to the following:

team.

This se ng will prevent the user from being prompted to merge pa ents in the P2DA dialog. If this se ng is not set to “false,” the user can s ll prevent the merging of records by selec ng “No” to the merge dialog if prompted. For more informa on, please see our FetaLink Reference Page here: h ps://wiki.ucern.com/display/public/reference/Install+P2DA_Version+2.8.0 This informa on was also flashed via PR13‐0264‐0.

Ideas

of Arab Health Magazine.

Pregnancy MPages There have been many requests to expand the capacity of the comments sec on within the Prenatal Visits component. We had an opportunity to discuss these Ideas with our Women’s Health Council on 5/14/15 and the consensus remains that if an extensive comment (longer than 256 characters) is required then the provider needs to document a note. It was suggested and an Idea was logged to add have a visual indicator/link on the card/column in the component that would indicate that a note had been complet‐ ed for this visit. If this is something you would like to see implemented please visit the Idea page and add your interest!

Tips & Tricks

End of Support for FetaLink 1.9.4

Cerner has set October 15, 2015, as the end-of-support date for FetaLink 1.9.4, which corresponds to the announced end-of-support date for CareAware iBus 2.1. Only critical defects will be corrected after October 15, 2015, for FetaLink 1.9.4.

Pregnancy Summary Note Types Did you know that you can associate note types to the ac ve pregnancy to display at the close of pregnancy, and be accessible as part of the historical pregnancy? Configuring PowerChart Maternity’s “documentsrelated” preference is one great way to tell the pa ent’s pregnancy story. For the configura on, access Core Event Manager and navigate to All Documents > Clinical Documents add a Grouper Event Set called Miscellaneous Womens Health. Under the Miscellaneous Womens Health grouper you will want to add all of the note types that you would like to be related to the Pregnancy. **Note** The Event Set name is Miscellaneous Womens Health and the display has been changed to Womens Health Documents.**

Please refer to the following flashes on the Flashes page of Cerner.com for more details: PR15-0034-0 End of support for FetaLink 1.9.4 PR14-0264-0 End of support for CareAware iBus 2.1

Next, in Preference Manager under default > system > component > Pregnancy Prefer‐ ences, you will want to add the “documentsrelated” preference. For the value, add the Event Set name for the Grouper Event Set that you just created in Core Event Manager. For this example, we would add the value of Miscellaneous Womens Health.
