The Boys are Back in Town

Expect 90 minutes of all your biggest party and floor filling hits performed by the biggest showbiz divas and singing superstars in the world

Celebrating over 23 years touring in the UK after first appearing at the

Edinburgh Festival in 1989, The Lady Boys of Bangkok are returning to the Brighton Fringe Festival with their most sensational show yet; Summer of Fun! Back at their original location of The Sabai Pavilion at St Peter’s Square, Brighton from 6th May to the 4th June ’22, the infamous cast features 16 of the world’s most glamorous and beautiful showgirls. The Lady Boys of Bangkok is now officially the largest and longest continuous touring cabaret show in the UK, touring 11 city centre sites and some 40 plus theatres for 9 months each season.

This sensational and fast-moving large-scale production is not rude or crude, it is cheeky, funny and filled with more star-spangled sassiness than you can shake a diamanté dripping silk glove at. Expect 90 minutes of all your biggest party and floor filling hits performed by the biggest showbiz divas and singing superstars in the world, in this theatrically choreographed show. Featuring over 400 costumes and spectacular dance production numbers, The Lady Boys of Bangkok is where West End theatre meets Hollywood.

As fabulous and as eye-catching as the cast within, the purpose built pink Sabai Pavilion theatre tent and foyer seats over 400 guests at tables of up to 8 people and boasts two fully stocked bars, plus authentic Thai street food served from the foyer. Created by producers Carol and Phillip Gandey for Gandey World Class Productions, each season rehearsals start at the end of January in Thailand when the cast are brought together with costumiers, lighting designers and the creative team to produce an iconic production that gets bigger and better each year.

Such is the popularity of the production team and show, that when a cast member retires or takes a year out, it takes several weeks to narrow down the vast numbers of performers applying to fill those spangled heels, until the team finally select a new performer. Only the best will do and the cast work incredibly hard to present and create the high standard that The Lady Boys Of Bangkok are renowned for.

The creative team then spend several weeks with a costume department and set designers to put the show together in the UK, whilst rehearsals continue in Thailand before the cast are flown in to set the show in the UK each spring. Often, the city centre tour venues and theatres are booked a couple of years ahead to ensure the show has the best venues and is hosted every single night between April and November. With a team of 26 people on the theatre tour alone, they ensure the every night is as polished and spectacular as the first.

Funnier, Cheekier and as glamorous as ever, ‘Summer of Fun’ is one not to be missed. Tickets range from £15 - £36 depending on dates and times and can be purchased from WWW.LADYBOYSOFBANGKOK.CO.UK
