The 26 Beach Bungalows are simply unique. Round shaped, they are totally covered in coral. Expertly preserved for over 30 years, this element, together with wood, is today the distinctive material of the entire structure. Many of them are sites within protected areas and some are famous for being included on the list of the best diving sites in the world. In the atoll of Felidhoo (Vaavu), there are numerous famous canals including Miyaru Kandu and Fotteyo Kandu. Miyaru Kandu, located only a 25-minute boat ride from the resort, is famous for its wonderful overhang where you can admire a large number of sharks and other pelagic fish. Fotteyo Kandu is known, instead, for its overhangs, for the multi-coloured soft coral, and for possibility of encounters with hammerhead sharks. Diving in the waters near NAKAI Dhiggiri is sure to delight and astound not only the more experienced divers, but also those who want to try recreational diving for the first time. The resort kayaks and catamaran give you the opportunity to sail across the astonishing Maldivian Sea and take a closer look at the coral reef that surrounds the island. In recent years, the NAKAI Group have been committed to developing a project that was deeply connected with nature. From the stars to the ocean, passing through the mainland, the team have worked to recount Maldives in a whole new and unexplored way. Thanks to the collaboration with the application development company Vito Technology and its "Star Walk 2" app, in September 2019 the team positioned their NAKAI constellations in the sky. Together with Astronomer, Stefano Perrone, the NAKAI Group are committed to photographing the night sky seen from Maldives, mapping it to a large extent and are almost ready to publish the first astrophotographic archive of Maldives. By finding new uses for innovative scientific instruments, the dedicated team were able to sample the electromagnetic fields of the ocean by translating them into sound and today the ocean has a voice which sings wonderful songs. Finally, thanks to the entry of Hulidhoo into the family, the team have been able to take another step forward in the world of ecology. The project for this island of the NAKAI Group is totally dedicated to agriculture, with fruit and vegetables being produced right there on the island for the benefit of all the NAKAI resorts (Alimathà, Dhiggiri, Maayafushi and Velifushi) for an unprecedented kilometer-zero project.
