Abstract Enemy was formed between January and March 2006 in Pereira, Colombia, which is the cradle of some of the best metal projects in South America. Trying to create a band that wasn’t limited by any specific genre composition wise, Abstract Enemy just lets its members’ feelings flow and turns them into devastating riffs, without setting aside the Rock roots of a generation scarred by electric guitars. In October of the same year the band records its first single entitled “Ice in the Desert”. In 2007 the band launches its second single “Love is a Disease” and begins to consolidate as one of the most representative bands of the region, In 2008 both of the band singles are featured in an international compilation distributed by AOG media productions (Texas, USA). In 2009 Abstract Enemy manages to emerge at the national level as one of the 2 winning bands of the Xtime Rock competition, after being selected among 130 band from all over the country, ensuring a place besides Anthrax and Iron Maiden at their show in Bogotá during the Somewhere Back In Time

world tour, Lauren Harris and Loathsome Faith were also featured in the show. This experience was undoubtedly one of the most important ones for the young band, widening its members’ perspective, and leading to a more mature sound composition wise, and a better structures live show, which turn more precise and energetic. The video and photographic footage of the show also made possible the production of the band’s first ever video, featuring the song “Love is a Disease”, produced by Juan Carlos Duque, which was published as Abstract Enemy’s way of sharing the experience with fans and friends. In 2010 Abstract Enemy’s work is featured in a Colombo - Mexican compilation, distributed freely through the Internet worldwide, also In this year the band is invited to participate in one of the biggest national metal festivals named “La Cruzada del fuego” in it 9th edition, hosted in Cali, Valle, among other smaller festivals including the first ever edition of the Viva! Festival in Dosquebradas Risaralda, The second edition of the City Rock Festival and Shock Magazine’s “Vuelta a Rockombia”. Finally and closing this year they play a show in Pereira besides Tankard, one of the German legends of thrash metal. In the first semester of 2011 the band enters

a recess due to various circumstances, and the recording of their first album is postponed. The band reappears in July as one of the bands featured in the first edition of the “Convivencia Rock” International Festival, the biggest open air festival that was ever held in the region, after this The band continues its songwriting process while appearing in small show in town. They finish the year with a concert alongside Goretrade, Luciferian, and La Legión, some of the region’s most representative bands. After a long time deciding the best way to produce its first album, the band goes to Bogotá in May 2012 in order to record the album in Audio Factory Studio, the album was recorded in a month and the band receives the fully mixed and mastered audio in February 2013. 2013 proves to be a productive year, while finishing the album art, the band also shoots its first high quality video clip in march, directed by Red Code Films from Bogotá, the video features the song Shake, and would be the first single from the new album, entitled React!. The video is released in April, and is received warmly in the Colombian scene due to its quality, and creating some hype for the upcoming album. In the middle of May, a lyric video is released for the song Government,

produced by Alcamedios Agency. The finished album begins distribution in May 22, and a release concert is held in June 27 along Ingrand and Absolution Denied, two of the biggest names in the National scene. In 2015 the band loses its drummer, and stays silent until midyear when it starts rehearsing again and goes to a great new live show called “Festival Recicla por el Rock”, held in Montenegro, Quindío. The band also starts selling React! through different online stores (such as deezer, iTunes, etc.), distributed by The Orchard Music Group. On April 2016, and after almost two years the band plays again in its hometown, taking part in the Frankenstein Metal Fest, which had shows in Pereira and Manizales, the band also partakes in various show around the country including Cartago,

MedellĂn and BogotĂĄ, as part of a commemoration of its 10 years of existence, which also opens the door for a new ambitious project, a documentary in which the band aims to portray the harsh environment for metal music in colombia, the lack of support and opportunities. Apart from the documentary the band has also begun pre production of its second album, with the music almost completely written, and hoping to enter the recording studio on the first semester of 2017.
