Foundations of Wine
Would you like to enhance your career in the wine industry, or make recommendations with greater confidence? This class covers topics and practical skills essential for those connecting with customers in distribution, retail, restaurant or hospitality settings. Focus on knowledge needed to prepare for entry level certification exams, such as those offered by the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Society of Wine Educators. Explore the basics of wine, global regional differences, service techniques and food pairings. Blind tastings included to develop distinction ability. Hobbyists welcome. Instructor: Andy Hale. Students must be 21 years of age to register and must bring ID verifying date of birth to class. Exams not part of the class.

ServSafe Manager Certification
Prepare for the National Restaurant Association's ServSafe Manager Certification. Exam is included as part of the class. Upon completion with a passing exam grade of 75%, the student will earn this industry recognized certification valid for 5 years. This one day class features online testing and instant score results. No book required.

Basic and Advanced Culinary Skills Classes
Through a cooperative arrangement with A-B Tech and ABCCM, we are able to offer these 13-week, 216-hour culinary skills classes. Craft Beverage Institute of the Southeast ®
The Craft Beverage Institute of the Southeast® (CBI) at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College is designed to support the rapidly growing craft beverage industry in Western North Carolina and the Southeast by providing curriculum and non-credit courses in brewing, distilling, fermentation and related business practices. The Institute prepares individuals for positions in brewery and distillery operations and management, distribution, sales and marketing, and customer service or to be self-employed and open their own craft production facility.
In addition to brewing, distillation and winemaking practices, students perform experiments and vet their production output via sensory evaluations.
