EVENT COLLATERAL This was a school project for my Graphic Design III class. We were given several non profit organizations to choose from and create an event. I chose Robin Hood because they help those in need right in the heart of our home, New York City. They assist the citizens of NYC financially, education and hunger. This hit home, because I have gone hungry and was homeless at a point in my life. I decided to go with a Masquerade Gala, because I have always

On my menu exploration, I searched through a variety of menus and pulled up 5 different styles that appealed to me and would work with what I had in mind for my menu design.

My inspiration was a restaurant in Bangkok Thailand, where I visited during spring break and I took a few pictures to use in my menu project.

The top left is the promotional item I created to giveaway during their grand opening. There are 5 Godiva chocolates. I hand wrote the thank you note so it would be more personal. On the right image I displayed the logo high above the entryway. 18

MENU This was another project from my Graphic Design III class. I enjoyed this project very much and the moment I heard about it I new the direction I was going in. As you passed through the presentation you’ll see all the colors, fonts, and illustrations I used through out the menu. I wanted an upscale restaurant. My close friend’s family own a few restaurants, so I asked if it would be alright if I used some of the dishes her family serves. She sent me the menu and from there I went to work. I used the Dome located at Lebua Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand as my chosen restaurant to use as the setting. I was there during spring break, and I was in awe at the beauty and majestic scenery. My promotional piece was chocolates encased in a crystal glass. I added the logo, wrapped it in cellophane with a gold ribbon and decided to write on the tag instead of printing the thank you note. I thought it would be more personal. I wrote “Thank you for coming to our grand opening” on the back “Compliments of Godiva Chocolates” There were suppose to be more chocolates, but only 5 made it inside. Oops!

The Defenders are a non-profit organization to stop child abuse. Their mission is to educate those who are in professions that deal with children such as; nurses, doctors, day care centers, social workers, teachers, and any school officials. We want to make people aware of the signs that are associated with child abuse and how to take the proper precautions and the proper channels they need to follow.

We used the American Flag as a symbol to send out a visual message to our nation. There are over a million children that are abused or neglected in the United States Child abuse is a major national concern. Studies show that each year over one million children are abused or neglected by their parents. The children who live through years of assault, degradation, and neglect bear emotional scars that can last for years. We all pay the price of their suffering. Maltreated children often grow up to vent on their own children--and others--the violence and aggression their parents visited on them. Proper recognition and reporting is a fundamental first step in addressing the tragedy of child abuse. Better--and more accurate--reporting depends on continuing public and professional education efforts. Cited: University of Mary, School of Public Policy Welfare Reform Academy

The following are elements that we illustrated to visually communicate our message to our nation. We used the bear, one of the most important elements from the poster to deliver our message about child abuse. This image stands on it’s own portraying a small child who’s been abused by an adult. The following illustrations were created for the brochure.

This page relates to the poster. The message sends a powerful message about our organization. We fight for those without a voice. Children are often scared and afraid to speak out.
