Venice May 12-­‐13, 2012 The Organising Authority is the yacht club of Venice Compagnia della Vela RULES The City of Venice Trophy (The Event) will be governed by the Following Documents: a. The Protocol Governing the 34th America’s Cup b. The AC45 Class Rules c. The ISAF Racing Rules Of Sailing America's Cup Edition. Boats shall carry tracking and TV gear, or corresponding corrector weights supplied by the Regatta Director. The provisions of the Protocol shall apply to the City of Venice Trophy and to the organizing authority all officials, and all participants (‘Participants”) except that Article 21 (Requirement to Race) of the Protocol shall not apply. Boats shall be sailed with 5 crew members while racing. ADVERTISING Boats may be required to display advertising. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY The Event is open to all boats of the AC45 class and entered competitors in the 34th America’s Cup. Eligible boats may enter by emailing melanie.roberts@americascup.com if they intend to race by May 7, 2012, SCHEDULE Racing will take place as follows: Saturday May 12 3 -­‐ 30 min Fleet races Sunday, May 13 2 -­‐ 30 min Fleet races 1 – Long Fleet race finishing at St Marks Square The scheduled time for the start of first race each day is 1400 hours. There will be a Participants briefing at the ACRM Base scheduled for 0900 hours each day of racing. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The Sailing Instructions will be available by May 10, 2012. VENUE Attachment A shows the racing area.

THE COURSES The courses will be described in the Sailing Instructions. FORMAT AND SCORING Competitors shall be scored accordingly: 1st place 9 points nd 2 place 8 points 3rd place 7 points rd 4 place 6 points 5th place 5 points th 6 place 4 points 7th place 3 points th 8 place 2 points 9th place 1 point DNF 1 point DNS 0 point PRIZES From a total prize pool of €50,000 the following will be awarded to: The first team to Finish at St Marks Square in Sunday’s long fleet race shall receive the City of Venice Trophy presented by Arzanà Navi and a cash prize of €30,000. The three highest placed teams from a total of the 30min races will be awarded as follows: 1st Place €12,000 2nd Place €5,000 rd 3 Place €3,000 SUPPORT BOATS Support boats shall follow all instructions from the ACRM Course Marshal. ON WATER COMMUNICATION Boats shall receive on water communication via ROCOMMS as defined by The ISAF Racing Rules Of Sailing AC Edition and UHF Radio to be supplied by ACRM. Two "Safety Radios" will be supplied to each Team, one for the Participant's Yacht and one for the Participant's RIB. Once issued these radios become the responsibility of the respective Participant and the costs of any loss or damage to such radios shall be payable by that Participant upon request by ACRM. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Each Participant acknowledges and agrees the AC45 Yacht is of an extreme design and propulsion, and its use by the Participant and its crew during the City of Venice Trophy involves an inherently high risk of damage and injury to property or persons, and that full and sole responsibility of such risk is acknowledged by and accepted by the Participant. The Participant agrees as a pre-­‐condition of participating in the 2012 City of Venice Trophy that Americas Cup Race Management (“ACRM”), the America’s Cup Event Authority (“ACEA”) , Yacht Club of Venice Compagnia della Vela nor any of their respective officers, employees contractors or agents shall be liable to the Participant or any of its crew, officers, employees, contractors or agents at any time for any damage, loss or costs whether to property or person arising from the Participant ’s participation in the Event save for the cases of gross negligence or willful conduct by ACRM, ACEA, the yacht club of Venice Compagnia della Vela or any of their respective officers, employees contractors or agents, and the Participant hereby waives to the maximum extent permitted by law any and all such claims.


The Participant agrees to fully indemnify and keep indemnified ACRM, ACEA, and Yacht Club of Venice Compagnia della Vela against any damage, loss, costs or proceedings arising from the Participant ’s participation in the Event or any of its crew, officers, employees, contractors or agents. Article 18 of the Protocol (Liability and Insurance) applies to the City of Venice Trophy. 13.

INSURANCE Each Participant shall comply with Article 18.3 (Insurance Certificate) of the Protocol and provide a certificate of third party insurance cover prior to commencement. Each Participant shall ensure each of its team members participating in the City of Venice Trophy hold sufficient accident and medical insurance cover to meet all risks of costs of injury or illness that may occur during the City of Venice Trophy. MEDIA RELEASES Article 47 (Media) of the Protocol shall apply during the City of Venice Trophy. Each Participant shall meet the obligations set out in Article 47 of the Protocol to procure the required acknowledgements from each of their crew and team members, sponsors and commercial partners. ACCEPTANCE OF CONDITIONS Each Participant is required to accept the terms of this Event Notice by returning a signed copy to the ACRM Race Office prior to 0930 on Saturday May 12, 2012. LOCATION OF RACING AREA

Racing will be conducted on the course area outside Lido Island with the final race Sunday finishing at St Marks Square.
