ABOUT THE PROJECT
MAIN RESULTS
To preserve a significant area of Caatinga, consolidating strategies for biodiversity protection, environmental education, research, and local sustainability. To promote the consolidation and effective management of the Serra das Almas Natural Reserve (SANR) and support for the sustainable development of its surrounding communities, research, and environmental education activities. The project supports the actions of the SANR management plan, especially activities related to the management of the Conservation Unit.
• 803 visitors to the Serra das Almas Natural Reserve; • Incorporation of the Gameleira Farm (439,9 ha) to SANR; • 6,285.38 hectares protected; • 605,375,278 tons of carbon emissions avoided; • 35,811 km of firebreaks in the entire perimeter of the Conservation Unit.
