Women's SYMPOSIUM
THE HOPE IS HERE
The Academy of Our Lady of Peace (OLP) has been a leader in educating San Diego’s young women to be trailblazers and innovators, our tradition for more than 140 years. The oldest high school in San Diego and the only girls’ school in the county, OLP has been an epicenter for young women’s education and empowerment throughout its history.
During their time at OLP, students are given the tools to become transformative agents of change in our world. Through a signature OLP event, the Women’s Symposium, we provide our students and community attendees the opportunity to engage with and learn from the region’s most successful and inspiring women —the type of women our students endeavor to become —opening their eyes to a world of possibilities.
I’m excited to share with you that OLP will host our ninth annual Women’s Symposium on March 24, 2023. We’re seeking community partners to join us in empowering young women to fearlessly chase their dreams. Through sponsorship of the Women’s Symposium, your business or organization will benefit from direct exposure to hundreds of community members who are interested in encouraging and supporting women through this unique speaker series.
Not only will your support help to fund the Women’s Symposium, proceeds from this event will support the Carondelet Annual Fund which supports our areas of greatest need including academics, athletics, co-curricular activities, technology, campus maintenance and so much more. Your company’s association with the Women’s Symposium brand and OLP—recognized as a leader in women’s empowerment and education—will help to make this event for our girls possible and strengthen the community’s positive image of your business.
The Women’s Symposium congregates women leaders and our students to partner in the hope of being the change the world needs today. We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to the generous sponsors of the Women’s Symposium. This day would not be possible without your support. It is because of you that we are able to celebrate the lasting impact that events like this one have on our community, and to look to our future with optimism and hope.
Sincerely,
Kristin Haygood ‘99 Annual Gifts ManagerPRE-EVENT RECOGNITION

About This Year's Symposium
Modeled after speaker panels at leading universities, the OLP Women’s Symposium brings together women leaders to share their insights and pathways to success with our students and community.
Panels:
Panels for the 2023 Symposium will be topical and feature 3-5 speakers, including a moderator. Panel topics will correlate directly with the theme, The Hope is Here, and will address a wide range of topics.
Workshops:
Workshops feature interactive presentations on a specific skill or topic (i.e., Acing an Interview), have an emphasis on a specific career (i.e., Careers in Engineering) or career development, feature topics pertaining to women and girls (i.e., women’s health), where women leaders can extend expertise.
Marketplace:
The marketplace is a popular spot for students and attendees to browse between the scheduled workshops and panels. The marketplace will be a space for sponsors and vendors to showcase their companies, services, and goods.
Roundtable:
The Roundtable is a hosted lunch on Thursday, March 23, 2023. Speakers from past Women’s Symposia are invited to participate in an intimate discussion with a select group of OLP students. This allows our students and speakers to get to know each other better and take a deeper dive into personal journeys. This is a great way for our students to understand the importance of networking and the benefits of mentorship.
