What does the OLP Global Scholars Program Include?
PRE-TRAVEL PREPARATION:
• Students participate in several pre-travel workshops to build essential skills specific to the region they are traveling to.
• Workshops cover topics like language learning, cultural awareness, health and safety, and more.
IMMERSIVE IN-COUNTRY EXPERIENCE:
• Students travel to their chosen destination country for a 7-14 day program.
• They engage in community-driven projects focused on the UN Sust ainable Development Goals (SDGs).
• Projects span areas such as environment, education, health, and social justice.
• Students work alongside local grassroots organizations and comm unity members.
YOUTH LEADERSHIP:
• Participants develop crucial leadership skills throughout the program.
• They learn to collaborate, think critically, communicate effectively, and adapt to challenges.

Experience the Trek of the Seven Sisters Pilgrimage: From San Diego to Tucson, Arizona. Trace the path of the Seven Sisters of St. Joseph, who traversed this route in 1870 by covered wagon and on foot. Immerse yourself in the history and culture of the Southwestern United States as you learn about the Seven Sisters, indigenous peoples, and the ongoing ministries of the Sisters of St. Joseph while exploring the landscapes they once journeyed through.
Fall and Spring of each year | MEXICALI, MEXICO
Experience a transformative journey with our CSJ Border Compassion Immersion Experience. Join us for a one-day service trip to Posada del Migrante in Mexicali, Mexico, where you’ll witness firsthand the compassionate work of Border Compassion, founded by a Sister of St. Joseph. At Posada del Migrante, migrants find refuge, support, and dignity as they navigate their journey seeking asylum or entry into the United States.

Current OLP students. If a trip is post graduation, students and parents will be required to sign an additional acknowledgement form.
How do I apply?
Fill out an interest from and submit to the Global Program Director, Shawn Hanley.
Is there a GPA minimum requirement?
No required minimum but students must be in good academic and disciplinary standing.
Is food included?
Breakfast and most dinners are included.
Who are the chaperones?
OLP Faculty and Staff members.
Is there a faith component?
Through the presence of our faculty leaders, each trip embeds our OLP mission and charism into their learning experience.
