To ensure that this bank’s digital transformation efforts were amplified by aligning the way that their Product Managers from across the business work.

Digital Literacy (Part 1) Half day

This two part workshop kick-started the program to build a culture of “tech confidence". This first session contextualised the business' digital systems, processes and job roles.

Solution

Focus the group through a capability training program covering core processes as well as best-practice digital knowledge in essential areas.

Digital Literacy (Part 2) Half day

The second session saw the development of a shared language around digital to drive productivity and encourage more thoughtful, "digital-first" decision-making.

Intro to User Experience Design Half day

To ensure that the bank's users remained firmly at the centre of the program, this workshop covered best-practice UX mindsets, tools and artefacts.

Stepped learners through the various stages of a typical product lifecycle and learners grasped both Waterfall & Agile Scrum project management methodologies.

The final session taught the group how to work creatively within constraints and overcome common legacy process issues.

About the project

This bank had a wide variety of staff with the title of product manager - all with various ways of working. After a co-design process, Academy Xi created a nine week program which focused on essential digital skills including UX and software development fundamentals as well as core product management tools and mindsets. Through the lens of a real-world scenario, the program culminated in a product management project simulation. This gamified day of training synthesised program learnings in an interactive and hands-on simulation environment.

Product Build Simulation Full day

The program culminated in a simulated product build allowing for the generation of real-world business insights and the practicing key product planning moments.
