Whether you feel a specific call to pastoral ministry or simply desire to gain an in-depth theological knowledge – the Bachelor of Theology (BTh) will provide you with the skills you need to walk confidently as a Christian in a secular world. As a BTh student, in addition to Theology courses, you will take courses from other departments at Acadia University. This experience provides a well-rounded educational formation for students, taking core courses in Biblical Studies, Christian Theology, and Christian History – while concurrently taking electives in both Arts and Sciences.

There are several options within the BTh program for you to consider depending on your future goals.

ORDINATION TRACK

If you are thinking about ordination, the BTh (Ordination Track) will prepare you to meet ordination requirements of some denominations and churches.

FOR ACADIA UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

If you have already completed your first degree at Acadia University and are looking for theological education – ADC offers a unique opportunity for you to enroll in the “2nd Undergraduate Degree” program to complete your BTh. If you are an undergraduate student at Acadia University in any degree except the School of Music – you may choose to minor in Theology.

If you have already declared your minor and only have room for a class or two – ADC also offers engaging electives.

CRANDALL-ACADIA PARTNERSHIP

The Crandall-Acadia partnership program is a unique opportunity that provides an avenue for you to pursue both God and career aspirations simultaneously while completing the Acadia BTh concurrently with your Crandall degree. For more information, visit: acadiadiv.ca/bth-partnership

LESLIE UBELS, BCD 19, BTh 20‘ ‘

“I chose Acadia Divinity College because the faculty are passionate about education, and they have a desire for students to think critically. While studying for my undergraduate degree in Community Development (BCD) at Acadia University, I began taking elective courses at ADC. These courses expanded my understanding of the Bible and provided the time and space to work through challenging issues. My ADC education has already helped me in ministry.

This year, I am eager to continue my theological studies and earn a Bachelor of Theology as my second undergraduate degree from Acadia. I am drawn to the diversity of courses and the flexibility to explore different subjects, including relevant topics that impact the world today.”
