About Acanto Hotels The owner started out in 1985 with a real estate construction company at the eastern end of Long Island New York. He constructed hundreds of homes for single families. He also built 7 residential and several commercial complexes. In 2004 he bought the Acanto Hotel and ran it as one of the most successful hotels in Playa del Carmen. The Acanto Hotel was demolished in 2009 and rebuilt as the new Acanto Condo Hotel.
