Test Engineer/Technician GATR Technologies has an immediate opening for a Test Engineer/Technician with the following credentials and experience: • • •

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably electrical (others considered based on experience). Experience working in a laboratory and/or product testing environment with lab/test/instrumentation equipment. Prior satellite communications knowledge is a plus.

Job Summary: Interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, and modifications to satellite communications equipment. Identifies functional problems and suggests resolutions. Creates and assists in the definition of internal quality control standards and documentation related to product testing. Analyzes test cases and provides regular progress reports. Supervises co-op students assigned to antenna testing. Expected to work independently to create, maintain, and execute test procedures. Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform technical functions such as test, checkout, modification, and assembly of GATR components in preparation for testing and customer deliveries. • Program test equipment to automate test that include multiple pieces of equipment. • Test activities include but are not limited to: Antenna signal pattern scans, FCC standards, amplifier performance tests and checkouts, inflation unit checkouts, software upgrade checkouts, and on-air verifications. • Work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform routine and prototype testing, checkout, troubleshooting, debugging, and environmental testing. • Conduct defined engineering tests and collect data as assigned. • Create, write, edit, and maintain (revision control) internal GATR test procedures for product testing and checkout. • Coordinate and report test activities with Production Manager in order to meet customer delivery milestone dates. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Knowledge and interest in satellite communications, radio frequencies, microwave technology, antennas, and amplifiers. • Automated test equipment programming via GPIB • Proficient with standard electronics test equipment including oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, VOM, DVM, signal generators, etc. • Must be a self-starter with a strong focus on quality, details, and results. • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision. • Ability to use a personal computer as well as learn new software packages. 11_006 TEI 10/6/11

Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time. Must be willing to follow safety procedures and work in a safe manner. Must work in a results-oriented, fast-paced environment as part of a team Excellent interpersonal skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
