Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices. Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance. Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufactures’ manuals or similar documents, to include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes. Requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance. May provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.
Basic Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university or related military training and six years minimum in a related discipline. Five years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer systems / networking, and simulation platform maintenance. Personal computer theory and operations - 1 yr concentrated academic course/fault detect to board level; Electronics Principles - 1 yr concentrated academic course/fault detect to component level; Hydraulic systems theory and operations - 1 yr academic course/fault detect to replaceable unit; knowledge of Linux, Window XP, Windows 95 and Office software operations. Electronic device operation and maintenance - 5 yrs; Quality assurance/equipment condition analysis 7yrs. Converse orally and in writing with corporate administrative and technical personnel. Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance as required.
