Essential Job Functions:  

      

Must be a U.S. Army trained Instructor Pilot and Rotary Wing Instrument Flight Examiner in the appropriate aircraft type. Plans and schedules work requirements, coordinates site scheduling with the TOR, and conducts or assists in briefings and tour of site to all senior officers, training units and civilian personnel, including foreign dignitaries on official business. Designs and administers programs to train all levels of personnel. Works with applicable business unit/area to establish specifications of course, prerequisite skills and knowledge for trainees. Researches and assists in writing technical and user manuals to support training. Implements approved revisions to course materials as necessary to improve training effectiveness. Works with senior level personnel and business units/technical areas to conduct needs assessments to ensure training needs are met. Performs duties as an Instructor Pilot (IP), Instrument Examiner (IE) and Instructor/Operator (I/O) in a designated Aircraft Simulation Device. Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the simulation device assigned. May be extensively involved in research and development for simulation upgrades, insuring cockpit configuration concurrency. Requires an up-to-date knowledge of Physiological Factors of Flight, Aerodynamics, Meteorology, ATM of assigned aircraft, Tactical Procedures, Gunnery, Techniques of Instruction. Assists in projects and development work as assigned, and maintains a high level of current subject knowledge, capability, and expertise.

Basic Qualifications:   

   

Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance if required. Successfully complete Aircrew Training Manual (ATM) requirements for the aircraft as modified for the Virtual Flight Simulator. Successfully pass a standardization and instrument flight evaluation to include an operator's manual examination IAW the Aircrew Training Manual and AR 95-1 as modified for the Virtual Flight Simulator. Knowledge of site technical and operational staff functions. Communication skills to write training manuals and procedures Presentation skills to train and educate employees on technical material and applications Willingness to travel.
