JOB SUMMARY: America's Logistics Combat Support Agency The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agency. DLA provides worldwide logistics support for the missions of the Military Departments and the Unified Combatant Commands under conditions of peace and war. It also provides logistics support to other DoD Components and certain Federal agencies, foreign governments, international organizations, and others as authorized.

DUTIES: DUTIES: As a Traffic Management Specialist, PD#H1U7600, you will be responsible for the following duties: • Responsible for implementing concepts, policies, procedures, directives, methods, practices, and techniques through which the transportation and traffic management of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is effected and maintained. Provides interpretation and guidance on transportation and traffic management policies. • Serves as the senior specialist in an increasingly complex environment providing guidance and direction to other specialists. • Participates with the Transportation Division Chief in planning current and long range objectives and new policies and procedures for a variety of transportation functional operational areas to ensure an integrated approach for efficient and effective performance. • Interprets policy and procedures based on regulatory requirements. • Monitors the status and progress of work, and makes necessary adjustments in accordance with established priorities, spot checks work in progress and reviews completed work to see that supervisor’s instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines have been met, and confers with the supervisor to address systemic issues as they arise.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: To qualify for a Lead Traffic Management Specialist, your qualifications must include: A. Specialized Experience: To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. • Participates in areas of system development that include transportation and supply systems management, planning, and reporting. • Evaluates and plans projects through consideration of all legal authorities and changing official policy, operating officials’ views, program information and analysis and statistical data. • Performs management improvement studies and makes recommendations regarding findings. • Interprets and clarifies policies, procedures, performance standards, and monitoring techniques to all levels of management.
