Position Summary: Perform Heavy Equipment Operation as part of the PPS construction crew. Operate heavy equipment including but not limited to excavators, backhoes, front-end loaders, pavement rollers and skid steers. Candidate must be willing to listen, learn and communicate with Project Manager, Superintendent, Foreman or other General Laborers to complete tasks and overall job successfully. Essential Job functions: • • • • •
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task Proficiently operate heavy equipment including but not limited to excavators, backhoes, and skid steers. Adhere to safety standards as defined by PPS’s safety standards and procedures. Perform general labor duties as needed. Able to operate safely and efficiently in close proximity to other live utility pipelines, conduit and cable.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: • • • •
Knowledge of practices used in the operation of assigned heavy equipment, in close proximity to other utilities. Knowledge of safety precautions and maintenance of heavy equipment. Knowledge of the materials and equipment used in construction work. . Ability to operate heavy equipment for extended periods of time.
Position Qualifications: •
At least 5 years documented experience operating excavators, back-hoes and skid steers preferably InRoad.

Ability to work in all types of weather. Ability to travel to a new location upon request at any time throughout local PPS service territories.

Must complete and pass a pre‐employment drug screen. Personal Transportation available to and from job site. Valid Driver’s License. CDL A License given preference ( must have current DOT Physical Card). Ability to lift 90 lbs.
