Responsibilities Candidates should display specialized and demonstrated experience in critical sociocultural topics and initiating comprehensive, unique and complex research efforts on relevant topics such as directing all aspects of Team activities by leading a Human Terrain Team in all phases and types of socio-cultural research. Candidate will oversee team ensuring integrity of methodologies and approaches across the teams, as well as, define overall analytical objectives in relation to existing or proposed policy and identifies required analytical resources. The candidate will provide direct support to unit decision-making by integrating the team into operations and the military decision making process, while performing long-range planning in support of existing and projected organizational mission requirements. Candidates will be required to ensure that the team meets supported unit requirements. Candidates must be willing and able conduct a variety of tactical maneuvers in personal protective gear, which may include: entering and exiting a combat vehicle, conducting a security halt, and responding to direct and indirect fire. This is an essential position that ensures the success of a team in combat operations or supports essential combat systems after a mobilization, evacuation order, or other military crisis. Incumbent may be required to deploy, on very short notice, to potentially high-threat, hostile OCONUS environments and to undergo specific training and immunization requirements as appropriate for OCONUS deployments. Incumbent may be required to perform duties under austere and potentially hazardous conditions during exercise and real-world crisis deployments. Position also requires travel (100% of the time), CONUS and OCONUS, as well as frequently extended duty with long hours under high pressure and generally high-risk job responsibilities. Education Requirement: Possess a Bachelors Degree, preferably in behavioral or social science or related disciplines appropriate to the position. Or a combination of education and experience, that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to the field. Or Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to the field.


Experience and Education: Minimum Requirements: " Clearly demonstrated leadership skills, capable of developing and building small team cohesion and effectiveness. " Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI). " Employee must successfully drug screening, as required by the client " Willing to travel 100% of the time " Willing to deploy to combat zones " Ability to meet the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) physical, medical and other requirements for deployment, including the ability to lift and walk with heavy objects and work in an austere and rugged environment " Able to qualify to transition to a Department of the Army Civilian prior to deployment " Must be able to successfully complete Human Terrain training at Fort Leavenworth, KS. " Willing and able to live in less than desirable and potentially hazardous living conditions for extended periods of time. " Willing to work long hours, with little sleep or rest under high pressure and generally high-risk job responsibilities. " Willing and able to travel extended distances by foot, military ground vehicles, and air transport into mountainous or desert regions. Preferred Experience " Former Non-Commissioned Officer (E-5 or above), Commissioned Officers (O-4 or above) or Warrant Officers (WO1 and above) " Knowledge and understanding of Counterinsurgency Operations (COIN) " 8+ military experience Required Skills: The candidate must have performed the following skills for at least 52 weeks and at the senior level or expert level: Ability to interpret Policy and plan operations skilled in team and resource management ability to provide operations support experience in setting individual and team goals and objectives knowledge of evaluation methods and identifying resources needs/requirements. Senior: Work at this level involves a wide range of complex assignments and nonroutine situations that require extensive knowledge and experience in the technical or specialty field. Receiving broad objectives and guidelines from the supervisor, senior candidates have independently handled a wide range of complex assignments and nonroutine situations and exercise independent judgment to identify and take alternative courses of action. Following broad objectives and guidelines, candidates act independently to establish priorities and deadlines within expectations established by the supervisor and exercise individual judgment to choose alternative guidelines to complete assignments. Candidates may lead and coordinate special projects, teams,


tasks, and initiatives and may build and utilize collaborative networks with key contacts within and outside of their immediate organization. Actions at this level are likely to have an impact beyond the candidatesimmediate organization. Expert: Work at this level involves an extraordinary degree of specialized knowledge or expertise to perform highly complex and ambiguous assignments that normally require integration and synthesis of a number of unrelated disciplines and disparate concepts. Candidates at this level set priorities, goals, and deadlines and make final determinations on how to plan and accomplish their work. Candidates at this level have accomplished critical mission goals and objectives. Candidates may have led the activities of senior and other expert employees, teams, projects, or 62 task forces. Candidates at this level have created formal networks involving coordination among groups and other external organizations.
