Lead Distribution Generalist Job Summary This is a non-exempt position requiring some experience in PCF Center operations. Reporting to the Distribution Center Manager (DCM) or ADM the incumbent performs the manual labor aspects of daily distribution center operations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Unloads newspapers from delivery trucks, verifying receipt of complete paper draw. Distributes proper allocation of copies to Independent Contractors. Retrieve emails, prints, reviews paperwork with IC's, and distributes as needed in advance of operations. Competent in the use and maintenance of pallet jack, pallet walker, re-charger, strapping machine and other equipment. Assists drivers in off-loading arriving tractor trailers, storing materials, re-loading trucks within established deadlines. As necessary may deliver open routes and/or show route to new independent contractor. As necessary may deliver replacement copies at the customers' request. Learn layout of routes serviced from the Distribution Center and periodically audits routes for visual verification of contractual compliance by the IC. Assists in maintaining a daily record of: contracted geographic territories serviced, truck and contracted carrier dispatch times, systems problems and answers to customer complaints. Occasionally, in Leader's absence, prepares weekly route settlement to insure accurate compensation to contractors for services rendered. Occasionally, may function as a working lead on the floor, but normally does not have supervisory responsibilities. All other warehouse and housekeeping work as necessary.

Must have reliable vehicle, valid driver's license in the state where residing, and automobile insurance at limits required by PCF. Required Physical Abilities Able to routinely lift heavy items. Able to unload bundles of newspapers (30 lbs to 50 lbs each) from delivery trucks and quickly move to spot for Independent Contractors. The understanding that the focus of the Distribution Center is to meet and/or exceed the established customer service objectives. Able to operate automobile. Competent in the use and maintenance of pallet jack, pallet walker, re-charger, strapping machine and other equipment.
