Maintenance Manager SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supervising the maintenance of production equipment, buildings, and utilities in a particular plant; managing and coordinating functions of plant maintenance and new installation in order to meet production needs at the lowest possible cost; coordinating and motivating Team Members; supervising the parts department to maintain an adequate supply of parts without excess inventory; overseeing the purchase of equipment, materials, and supplies; supervising line changeovers and new equipment installations; designing changes to equipment and production lines to better meet customer demand; planning plant wide safety, sanitation, ergonomic, USDA and OSHA programs; serves on the Safety Committee; and performs other responsibilities as the need arises. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Education beyond high school including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses is preferred. Experience: 5 + years experience. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. For example, generating simple letters, spreadsheets and/or graphics; or crating simple queries and data output using a fourth generation language; may require knowledge of the Tyson Business Computer System. Travel: 1 to 5 trips per year. Supervisory Skills: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel in a singe department or work unit who perform similar and/or interrelated tasks and activities.
