The Manufacturing Shop Operations Manager has supervisory direction of ~20 laboratory craft personnel in the conduct of corrective and/or preventative maintenance work orders, facilities maintenance and laboratory test rigs assembly and disassembly and reports to the manager, STTL. In this role you will oversee and ensure effective and safe execution of craft assigned work orders, craft technical and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) training as well as safe work conduct. The Manufacturing Shop Operations Manager coordinates with other site and production Operations leaders to gain support for bargaining unit work for which STL does not have requisite trades. Interfaces with site EHS department and supports EHS audits and action item tracking and closure. In this role of Manufacturing Shop Operations Manager, you will: • • •

Provide leadership, technical direction, and day to day EHS oversight of laboratory and augmented site craft resources performing lab work assignments Ensure all work is performed in a safe, efficient and effective manner Be responsible for evaluation, scoping of work requests, communication of work instructions and assignments between various union craft employees, engineering personnel and/or subcontractors Implement work assignment adjustments as required to meet laboratory priorities and objectives Review and coordinate with laboratory Technical Leaders and Test & Facility Engineers to conduct work, maintenance, logistics safely and efficiently Coordinate and support Manager, STL to resolve union work force and/or conflicts and diligently establish and maintain excellent employee relations internally to lab and with interfacing organizations Mentor and support development of lab hourly personnel Assign, track, review, close work orders with applicable craft resources for effective completion Adhere to applicable Component & Development Test (C&DT) and Facility engineering and safety processes (including eTOS, Hazardous Operations assessments, JSAs, etc.) Support Design and Test reviews including Controls, Red Flag, Tollgate, Facilities Upgrades and Safety as required (provide and communicate overview of laboratory projects to laboratory crafts) Communicate short and long term operations plan to crafts personnel Maintain, improve, own laboratory major maintenance requirements, planning, and execution. Lead and/or support weekly EHS meeting / review with laboratory craft resources (timely resolve safety deficiencies) Track and approve laboratory craft time and attendance records, KRONOS Issue laboratory craft warning and/or contact notices as required, coordinating with Manager, STL and Union Relations Ensure all work is performed in a safe, efficient, & deliberate manner Coordinate with laboratory Technical Leaders and Test / Facility engineers to conduct daily laboratory operations including testing, maintenance, operations, & logistics in a safe and efficient manner Ensure all hourly personnel have clearly defined work direction and goals for on-time, costeffective performance of all test & maintenance programs Coordinate with Manager STL to resolve grievances and/or conflicts and diligently work to establish excellent employee relations internally to STTL and externally to site hourly trades' leaders Coordinate lab operations with plant facilities groups as required to ensure all laboratory test and facility objectives are met

Be active in engaging with all laboratory safety programs including: ergonomics, safety, safety audits, Lock Out & Tag Out (LOTO), Fall Protection, green tag, Confined Space entry, & electrical safety (among others) Work with resident Engineering EHS leader and STL Manager to ensure all STL hourly personnel training requirements including site, EHS, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are completed per plan as required Support monthly and on the spot area and personnel safety audits Be responsible for supporting the planning, preparation and satisfactory execution of test programs and facility betterments Work closely with technical leaders, test and facility engineers, specialists, technicians, and hourly trades to identify & implement test facility betterments and execute facility maintenance plans Maintain / approve crafts KRONOS time vouchering and reporting
Qualifications/Requirements • • • •
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, technical, and/or supply chain Minimum of 8 years of technical experience in Manufacturing, Production, Engineering, and/or Industrial Facility Operations and Maintenance Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising and directing craft labor or in a shop leadership role Minimum of 3 year of experience with Six Sigma tools and quality processes

Military leadership Master’s Degree in Engineering or technical discipline 10 years of technical experience in Manufacturing, Production, Engineering, and/or Industrial Facility Operations and Maintenance and supervision of crafts Knowledge of test methodologies, development test instrumentation and measurement systems, power plant and process equipment data acquisition systems and data processing Knowledge of large facility and Balance of Plant infrastructure systems supporting test rigs Knowledgeable of manufacturing policies and regulations established by GE as well as government and other customers Knowledgeable of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, and standard cost systems Proven personnel relationship, mentoring, conflict resolution and leadership skills Skillful problem solver and troubleshooter Experience in steam or gas turbine technology, laboratory or performance and mechanical testing Knowledgeable in P&IDs, electrical & mechanical maintenance, facility operations, turbine assembly, tooling, Unigraphics and/or AutoCAD Six Sigma Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)
